Nice off season ! Interested to see if the Bills can put it together after another season of turnover and change.

Joe "cool" Flacco is bringing his super bowl winning experience to sunny San Diego after Bengals GM swooped in and blew up SD's draft by snagging Blake at 2... A special thanks to the financial faux pas of the Buffalo Bills (imagine their offseason if they could crunch the numbers and manage their books...).

SD now has 3 firsts in 2019 and a SB quarterback at the helm!

How did they acquire their first rounders you ask? Well, they started by trading away their 26th overall pick and a pair of seconds rounders (2018 & 2019) to move up in the draft to pick 6 to take Star QB out of Alabama Blake (traded with new Dolphins owner PushU2theBrink...)

Tragically, a day before the draft SD got wind of Cincy moving up to #2 overall and after trading away AJ green the experts surmised that they had their eye on a WR... However, Cincy took Adonis last season and SD had a sick feeling that they were going for their targeted QB...

Immediately the front office got on the phone and opened up communication to the league trying at first to move up to #1 but Seattle shut down talks for the first pick... But Seattle owner and GM Cheez flipped it and opened up talks for SD's #6 overall pick... SD agreed to terms for a conditional deal should Blake be taken at #2 by Cincy to move down to #24 and also secure Seattles 2019 first rounder in exchange...

Then SD noticed other teams with need at QB in front of them at hypothetical 24 and they weren't prepared to go anything else but QB first round so they put out feelers for another hypothetical "Inception like" "trade within a trade" with Cardinals owner publik drunk . Arizona would possibly trade their 2019 1st and 3rd to SD for their 24th overall pick should SD decide to move down due to Cincy taking their coveted QB...

Well, as you know, even though both other QB's were there at 24, this inception trade ended up happening anyways during the draft and that is how SD ended up with 3 1sts, a 2nd, and two 3rds (one traded to Baltimore for Flacco). The GM of SD reported afterward that they were hit with the decision at 24 to go with Weaver or Jordan but with the prospects of another 1st and 3rd, and Flacco surprisingly being available for trade, to take the picks and gamble that a deal with Papa Perry woijd get worked out after the draft...

    Details of SD Baltimore trade:

SD sends their 2019 3rd rounder to Baltimore (they acquired a 3rd from Arizona so not missing a beat).

Baltimore will also receive Phillip Rivers who has rubbed ownership the wrong way in SD after vocalizing his disapproval of LA relocation (ended up building in SD in 2017 anyways...). And to make matters worse, he had multiple interviews last year indicating that he was retiring after the 2018 season but then he decided to play another year because his kids need more in the college fund?!?!!

Rivers: 36 (14 years in league) and definitely retiring after this season... He has 87 throw power and now 75 injury rating...)

Flacco: just turned 33 (only 10 years in league) I think we can get 3 maybe 4 more years out of him in SD. He has 97 throw power, 97 injury rating and only pales to Rivers in PA rating...

Which would you rather have right now?

After joining the TMFL in week 15 of the 2017 season, the Panthers owner Cole Copeland came in and made it his sole mission to weed out any weaknesses. That he did.. Going 2-0 with a tie split in the middle weeks 15-17.. Beating the Super Bowl loser Eagles in week 17 to show the league that these Panthers aren't going anywhere after a lackluster 2017 season following a Super Bowl winning season in '16.

In free agency Copeland realized that his team really wasn't in as bad of shape as he first thought. Although old, there are some veteran presence to go along with some up and coming stars. They did dabble a little however, signing former National Champion AJ McCarron to a 2 year backup QB deal.. Veteran HB Shane Vereen to a 2 year deal as well to spell Jonathan Stewart and come in as the Panthers 3rd down back.. CB Keith McGill to come in and be a #2 corner in this God-awful CB squad.. Finally, RT Mike Remmers to come in and move from RT and LT however management sees fit.

In the 2018 draft Copeland and the Panthers came into it with the mindset that if one of their top 3 CB's fell to them at 17 overall that they would go defense. As the first round moved along, corners were going off the board left and right as FIVE were drafted in the first 15 picks. So they went to plan B, which seemed to come out even better, as LOLB Lamar Farris (whom many experts pegged as the number 1 true talent) somehow fell to the Panthers at #17. Farris is an extremely fast 4-3 linebacker who is as sure of a tackler as they come. He'll be an instant starter who will still need to practice hard on working on his coverage and ability to recognize the offense. In the second round, the Panthers went with TE Jared Price. With Greg Olsen not getting any younger Copeland saw Price on the board and jumped at him (albeit probably prematurely) Price is fast but lacks what it takes to beat the opposition in man coverage as he has one of the most terrible footwork I have ever seen. With Copeland's final pick in the draft before he was spotted leaving with who appeared to be 3 members of t ghe dance team.. He traded up to the 7th overall pick in the 3rd for a later 3rd, 4th and 5th and took DT Marquese Barnes. Barnes is one of the more freakier athletes of the dline talents coming out of this draft as he has an unbelievable first step without losing out on strength and is balanced in both the run and the pass.
