    Rams at Panthers week 1

This game was a struggle all the way through. Rams got the running game going early and couldnt pass, then passed it okay and couldnt run. The D was stellar from start to finish. Rookie DE Umodu showed why he was picked so high, his motor never stops and he provided constant pressure from the start...Robert Quinn and Brockers also did work but we were only able to sack Cam 3 times and two of those were by OLB's who we put into spy mode.

The Rams grind out a win on the road to open the season 23-10.

"Mommy, please don't make me write a summary of the Green Bay / Chicago game."

"You have to, son. You made a commitment, and you have to follow through."

"But the game was so bad, mommy. So bad that it has been outlawed by the Geneva convention as a means of getting prisoners of war to talk."

    "But you won the game."

"Did I really? My soul was crushed in that game. No God would ever let something so atrocious take place on my TV screen."

    "I have a feeling you're being a little over-dramatic."

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No, no I am not being overdramatic. The Bears and Packers opened up the 2016 season in rainy Chicago on Monday Night Football. A national audience would be witness to another clash in the oldest and most historic rivalry in the NFL. This may be one that people wish to forget.

The first 8 possessions of this game resulted in 8 turnovers in the course of 6 minutes and 21 seconds.

Let that sink in for a moment.

    Now let me repeat that.

The first 8 possessions of this game resulted in 8 turnovers in the course of 6 minutes and 21 seconds.

The Bears were struggling to find players in Blue jerseys to throw too, as the first 3 Chicago passes were all intercepted by Green Bay. When they weren't throwing the football, holding on to it was cumbersome as well as the Bears put the ball on the turf leading to a Packers recovery. Green Bay responded in kind, with 4 turnovers of their own - 3 of which were fumbles by 3 different players. Rodgers, who was horrible on the afternoon due to running for his damn fool life all game, threw his only pick during this time frame as well.

With 5 minutes and 39 seconds left in the first quarter, the game was scoreless and there had been a combined 8 turnovers.

Mercifully, the game would not continue this torrid pace, as something resembling football would occur over the remaining time in the first half. The Bears offense would find a groove, and take a 24-6 lead into the break.

In the second half, the Packers took the field determined to get their offense going. Green Bay would score on the opening possession with some great downfield blocking on a screen to Eddie Lacy. The PAT cut the deficit to 11.

In the second half, the Bears were determined to start like they did in the first half. They did so by throwing a pick 6 to AJ Hawk on their first possession. On the Bears next possession, Champ Bailey would scoop up a fumble and take it in to give the Packers their first lead of the game at 28-24. This score would carry over to late in the 4th.

Late into the 4th actually. The Bears took over inside their own territory but backup QB Jay Cutler was coming into the game to save them after the Bears had already committed 8 turnovers. Save them he did. He would connect with a rookie wide receiver after Champ Bailey got beat in coverage for a long TD pass to give the Bears a 31-28 lead with under 2 minutes to play.

Rodgers had sucked all game, but it was crunch time and it was time for him to lead the Packers to victory. A couple of short passes had them near midfield as the clock ticked under 1 minute to play. Rodgers looked deep and found Johnnie Perry behind coverage. They would connect deep into Bears territory - but disaster struck when Perry couldn't hold onto the football. The Bears would recover around their own 7, and return it to about the 20 with 50 seconds to play.

The Packers had all three of their time outs, which was their only saving grace. And they paid off dividends, as on 2nd down Beanie Wells was stripped on the inside run. BJ Raji would pick the ball up, bounce to the outside like fat Adrian Petersen, and rumble into the endzone for the game winning score. The 9th Bears turnover was their undoing, as the Packers would stifle the Bears last gasp and hold on to a 35-31 win.

Roggie - It wasn't a good game by any means, but it was fun!

What a great game to kick off the 2016 season. Both defenses played great. Miami held a 13-7 halftime lead in this one before being shutout in the 2nd half. The Dolphins front 4 were out of this world, hitting Giansante on almost every drop back, but somehow didnt manage a sack. Neither team was able to establish an offensive rhythm and in end turnovers and special teams were the deciding factors. Trailing 13-10 with a couple minutes left in the 3rd, Buffalo faced a 3rd down on the Dolphins 44. Giansante delivered a great pass, but the Miami defender was able to seperate the receiver from the ball. With an 11 mph wind at their back, Buffalo brought in their kicker with 99 kpw who barely delivered on a 61 yarder. On the next drive Miami had a chance to take the lead back but shanked a 40 yard field goal to the right. Buffalo used the short field to get in field goal range, again converting to claim their first lead since early in the 2nd quarter 16-13. On the next series Wesley Woodyard picked off his second pass of the day and took it to the house bringing it to 23-13 with around 6 minutes left. Another Dolphin turnover and FG by the Bills put a stamp on the game with around 3 minutes left. Buffalo was lucky to come out of this one with the win as their offensive line was horrible against the great Dolphin front.

gg Cgreen214 Things just snowpiled for you in the 4th quarter. Everytime we have played it seems you have improved and I know your close to turning your luck around. GL the rest of the year buddy and we will see you in Buffalo.

It was raining. Not sure if that has anything to do with the high number of fumbles, but especially in the first quarter nobody could hold on to the football.

Also, there were 7 fumbles lost, but I think 9-10 total fumbles in the game. I recovered a few of my own

The Eagles defense shut down the Vikings offense for most of the game and held them to 3/13 on third downs. The offense moved the ball pretty good for most of the game but last years NFL MVP Nick Foles missed alot of open receivers on the day and the Eagles didn't put the Vikings away until late in the 4th quarter. Eagles first round pick TE Bo Scott made a name for himself in his first game catching 7 balls for 84 yards and a TD and made a couple of tough catches in big situations. LeSean McCoy had a great start to his season and piled up over 150 total yards(118 rushing 34 receiving) and 1 late TD which put the game out of reach.

The Dolphins defense talked all week about how they were going to play fast, strong, and do every thing in their power to shut the Jets down. They definitely backed up their talk at MetLife stadium. Geno Smith threw 2 picks for the day and as a team the Jets were only able to run for 9 yards. "There are a lot of veterans on this defense and as a unit I feel like we are one of the best in the NFL", Randy Starks said. "We put it upon ourselves to come out and play big for our rookie QB. As our rook is acclimating himself to the NFL it is up to us to stop our opponents O the way we did today, so that his transition is that much easier."

The offense did its part too limiting turnovers and gaining 471 total yards for the day. The biggest improvement from last week had to be the Offensive line. Christian McNulty had a lot more time in the pocket this week (week 1 sacked 5 times vs week 2 sacked once) and was able to pass for 256 yrds and 1 TD. No picks. If the Dolphins defense can keep picking up the slack while McNulty adjusts, this could be the turnaround year that the fans in Miami have been waiting for.
    Offensive POTG
    • Christian McNulty - 22/30 256 1TD
    Defensive POTG
    • Randy Starks - 6 tackles, 1 sack

Rams played host to Coach Fisher's old team the Titans. Why the Titans are starting Fitz over Jones I have no idea. The Titans also got away from the running game and a talented RB to let Fitz fire it around. Rams rookie DE Umodu welcomed him to the game with a sack the first of his career and knocked Fitz out of the game for awhile.

Rams QB ScreenHunter_80 May. 27 19.06.jpg was solid in this game throwing for 227 yards and a couple TDs.

Dez Bryant continues his early season cold spell as he dropped four passes one of which was a walk in TD. The Rams also used every RB on the roster and really like the look of rookie RB Maxime who tore off a 22 yard TD run.

Rams D was just too much for the Titans at home and we turned them over 4 times which led to a Rams 38-10 win.

Ryan Tannehill made some key throws and the Giants defense was able to stop the Seahawks when it matter the most as NY went got Pacific NW and came home victorious. That evens the Giants record to 1-1.

Packers Offense Rolls Past Redskins 38-14

After a week 2 loss against Philadelphia which saw the Packers unable to move the football at all, Green Bay came out with guns blazing in their Week three game under the lights of Thursday Night Football in DC. The Redskins would score first, but the Packers would reel off 38 straight before putting their subs in for the 4th quarter. Green Bay had a very balanced attack, with Rodgers having a near perfect night and both Lacy and Franklin going over 100 yards. Johnathan Franklin had a career high 3 touchdowns in the victory as well.

Turnovers Doom Cardinals at Lambeau - Packers win 33-16

The Packers offense did not play well after an offensive onslaught in the nation's capital last week, but the defense came out to play wreaking havoc on the Cardinals. The Packers would sack Cardinals QB Thad Lewis 10 times in the victory Sunday afternoon. When the Arizona signal caller was able to throw the ball, the Packers' secondary was there to take it away as they secured 5 picks. Casey Hayward has been a monster in the first 4 games of the season, nabbing 6 interceptions himself for the campaign and 2 in this game alone.

Neither offense was really able to get much going until late in the second quarter Johnathan Franklin took an inside run 79 yards for a score, which broke the game open at 13-3. Rodgers would connect with Jermichael Finley with 3 seconds remaining in the half to up the lead to 20-3, and that was all she wrote.

Patriots beat up on the Dolphins
The Patriots come into this game 4-0 and looking to continue their run as they host the Miami Dolphins. Miami lost the toss and New England elected to kick. Miami offense started off pretty shaky as the first play McNulty got sacked and on the 3rd play of their first drive McNulty threw a pick to J. Bethel as he was trying to squeeze the ball to Mike Wallace. Terrell Pryor got the ball and looked to get his offense going fast as the first play was a screen play to T.Y. Hilton for 25 yards that he took to the 3 yard line. The next play T.Y. was put in motion and caught the touchdown pass in the middle of the field and Henery kicked the extra point to make it 7-0 with 10:53 on the clock. Miami got the ball back and had a quick 3 and out and punted the ball back to New England. Stevan Ridley had a couple nice runs for 1 first down but then Pryor got sacked and couple drops which led to a punt. Miami and New England would trade off 3 and outs. Miami would get the ball and run 5 straight times to the end of the 1st qtr with a score of 7-0 Patriots. The 2nd quarter would be an exciting quarter as the points started to come. Miami would rattle of 9 plays to cap off the drive with a R. Spadola 8 yard touchdown. New England would get the ball back and would score quickly as T.Y. Hilton would get a couple passes for 72 yards and then cap it off with a 15 yard pass over the middle as he would make a couple players miss as he spun and shed a tackle as he crossed the goal line making the score 14-7. Miami would have their own quick score as Mike Wallace would catch a 15 yard pass and McCourty would go for the big hit and whiff and Wallace put on the burners for a 80 yard 1 play touchdown that would tie the game up at 14's. Terrell Pryor would take the field only to leave the field quick after he threw a interception to D. Jones. After the interception McNulty would get sacked and fumble the ball and Melvin Ingram would scoop up the ball to return it for a 58 yard touchdown making the score 21-14. Miami would get the ball back and would have to punt after a 3 and out. Steven Ridley had 2 staight runs of 13 and 12 yards as the clock hit the 2 min warning. Once the whistle blew it was like the Patriots offense line would stop playing for the half as Pryor got sacked 3 straight times as he had NO time and have to punt. Miami had 57 secs left to get something sparked but would end up having yet another 3 and out and kick the ball back to the Patriots with 43 secs. Pryor hit Hilton for a 17 yard pass and then would get sacked and had to throw a pass away, but would get some points as Henery kicked a 41 yard FG with 5 secs left in the half. New England would squib and Miami woul run out the clock. New England up 24-14 at the half.

New England would get the ball at half and continue to keep their offense rolling. Terrell Pryor would drive down the field hitting T.Y. Hilton and Gronkowski on a couple passes, then Ridley would end the drive with a 1 yard sweep for a touchdown making the score 31-14. It wouldn't look good for Miami as McNulty would throw another interception on their first play of their possession to Grayson. Terrell Pryor would find Gronk in the endzone 2 plays after the interception to make the score 38-14. Miami came on the field knowing they had to do something to stay somewhat in the game and did just that as McNulty was smart and made some good plays and would end a decent drive with S. Heard bulldozing into the endzone for a 1 yard touchdown. The Patriots would run the 3rd quarter out with a score of 38-21. The Patriots would end up punting a couple plays later. The Dolphins got the ball back and drove down the field with the help of a hungry defense that would give them 30 yards on 2 late hits on the QB, but could only come up with a 30 yard FG by Sturgis making it 38-24. Stevan Ridley would run the ball 7 straight plays then Hilton would run an end around for -1 yard but Ridley would cap the long drive off with his 2nd touchdown on the day that went for 16 yards as the clock hit the 2 min warning. McNulty would come out and throw 3 straight incompletions and punt the ball back to New England and the clock would get ran out ending the game with a score of 45-24 New England Patriots. POTG was Melvin Ingram. GG Cgreen214 always a pleasure playing you

Crosby Kick as Time Expires Downs Bengals

Week 5 versus Cincinnati did not start out as the Packers would hope, with the Bengals moving the ball nearly at will against the Packers defense. It took everything the Green Bay offense had to keep the game close, and at 21-17 they didn't have too much to complain about. The Packers got the ball to start the second half, and jumped out to their first lead of the contest on the opening drive. The defense would put a stranglehold on the Cincinnati offense throughout the second half, leaving the game tied at 24 with under two to play. Green Bay would take advantage of good field position to get Crosby in range. Crosby makes the kick, gives the Packers their 4th win of the season.

    Packers Defense Snuffs Out Detroit

Green Bay entered week 7 with a 5-1 record, and a 1 game lead on the Lions. While the Lions were close on the standings page, the Packers outclassed them in a 26-10 win at Lambeau. The Lions struggled to move the ball all game, and were only 1 for 8 on third downs. Meanwhile, Green Bay was able to move the ball at will, with their only shortcomings being a 4th and short at the goal-line falling short before half, and Crosby missing a 56 yard field goal with under 3 minutes remaining in the game. Eddie Lacy went for over 100 yards on 27 carries, and Aaron Rodgers threw for an efficient 291 yards.

New York in a Fugue State of Mind After Crushing Loss to Green Bay.

After the game, Coach Big Suge Knight stated that "The game always finds a way to screw me". After what he and the Giants had just experienced at Lambeau, it would be hard to argue his sentiment.

With 5 minutes and change remaining, the Giants had seized a 31-17 lead. New York had dominated play throughout much of the game, and the Packers were simply trying to keep pace with New York. Now down two scores for the first time all season, Green Bay found themselves in a race against the clock. The Packers would move down the field relatively quickly, and a pass to John Kuhn in the flat made it a one score game with 2:45 to go.

At this point, the threat level for the Giants was about a 2 on a scale of 1-10.

The Packers felt a bit desperate, as they had struggled to stop New York all game. With 2:45 and all three of their time outs remaining, the Packers elected to try an onside kick. New York was able to fall on it easily, and took over with the game well in hand.

The threat level was back down to 0.

Just after the two minute warning, and with the Giants in field goal range, Ryan Tannehill would attempt to throw for a first down that would have allowed New York to run out the clock. This was ill advised, as the pass was intercepted by Nick Perry - and new life had been breathed back into Green Bay.

Up by only 7 and with under 2 minutes remaining, the threat level had quickly escalated to a solid 5.

Aaron Rodgers was up to the challenge of leading the team down the field. Green Bay was very aware of the clock, and able to get inside Giants territory with under a minute remaining and both of their remaining time outs. Threat level - 7.

This is the area of the field that the Packers have had trouble in all season, settling for a high number of field goals when they cannot punch it into the endzone. Rodgers threw what appeared to be an ill-advised pass to Chris Harper into the endzone, and somehow Harper made the adjustment to make the catch in double coverage to tie the game. The crowd went nuts. I think I could even hear Mike Tirico screaming from the press box of the Monday Night Football broadcast, as this game was surely headed for overtime.

    Threat level - 10.

With about 30 seconds left and 2 time outs, the Giants would try to get into field goal range to prevent this. This would prove to be their downfall, as Tannehill put the ball on the turf after being sacked with 11 seconds left. Nick Perry picked up the loose ball, and rumbled 40 yards to the endzone for the deciding score.

    Threat level - Broken.

After their win, Green Bay will enter the bye week with a 7-1 record. The only loss the Packers have felt thus far is a 17-10 loss at the hands of presently undefeated Philadelphia.

Suge - you deserved this win. You were the better player last night. Keep playing like that and you will get into the playoffs. And do me a favor and beat mboda a couple times please :)

Ugly week 8 game between the Niners who were visiting the Rams for first place in the NFC West. Both teams came in at 6-1. The game was the worst in the young career of Billy Hill as he tossed 4 picks....It was a tough pill to swallow for the Rams as they had several chances to get Kapernick passes but just could never secure one.

The Rams D did do its job when it got closer to the endzone holding the Niners to 5 FGs on the day. The Rams got two TDs and two FGs. The Rams were able to get a pick late when Alec Ogletree made a heck of a play to get a pick, but in typical fashion in this game we made the mistake of test Patrick Willis who had 3 picks on the day including a really nice user pick on the last one by Rich.

Rams D stood up again and got a stop with a FF and FR and we were able to run out the clock for a 20-15 win. Dez Bryant led the Rams O while Brockers led the D with 3 sacks on the day.

Willis was the Niners star and Crabtree who has some really sticky hands.

Bengals extend win streak, crushing winless Ravens 34-11

The Bengals continue to be hot ever since their narrow loss to Green Bay as they improve to 5-3. The offensive trio of Luck, Bernard and Green are really starting to gel as a unit with Bernard going over 100 yards rushing again and Green catching a ridiculous 3 TD throws from Luck. The defense did their part as well as they picked off Flacco 3 times on the day to keep the ball in the hands of their offense.

However, not all was coming up roses for the Bengals. Most opponents know that A.J. Green is the Bengals only receiving threat and that issue was compounded this week as both TE Tyler Eifert and #2 WR Keshawn Martin went down with injuries. Martin suffered a torn shoulder labrum and will undergo an MRI Monday to diagnose the severity of his injury. Eifert is expected to return next week.

With the recent demise of the Cleveland Browns, the Bengals now find themselves tied atop the AFC North and in the thick of the playoff race midway through the season.
