FIGHT OF THE NIGHT: Frankie Edgar ( ryty32 ) vs. Anthony Pettis ( _MG_ ) Pettis and Edgar went at it in a contender's match after both coming from huge KO victories at TOFC 1. They did not disappoint the fans as they had a 3 round battle which ended in a "Showtime" victory. Pettis hammered Edgar's legs with kicks from the get go and he eventually he succumbed to the damage. Despite the loss, Edgar gained a lot of respect for his performance and both guys deserve recognition for a great battle. SUBMISSION OF THE NIGHT: Shogun Rua ( G_T_G ) - Kimura at 1:15 of round 1 against Rashad Evans. After getting destroyed on the feet and rocked early against Evans, Shogun recovered and eventually won by submission in just over a minute. It was an impressive showing of ground game, heart and resiliency. Lets face it - it was also kinda lucky.. but he used his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and retained his title in the main event, so what's not to like? KNOCKOUT OF THE NIGHT: Gray Maynard ( DerekC ) - KO (Knee) against Melvin Guillard. Gray lost his first 2 fights in the TOFC but exploded against Melvin Guillard. He utilized a knee in the clinch to KO "The Young Assassin". This could be a turning point for Gray as he looks to extend his win streak and make a run at the title. I hope he doesn't begin to fall in love with his stand up though, however, since he is a wrestler through-and-through.
