Top 10 Report - Week 11 The Legacy BCS Top 10 – Week 11 Rank Logo Team Record Comments 1 Penn State 9-0 Penn State jumped into the #1 spot last week with its victory over Ohio State. With 2 conference games remaining (@ Indiana, Michigan State), they look like a lock for the Big 10 title. However, they have one more big hurdle, a road game at the end of season in Athens, Georgia against the Bulldogs. 2 USC 9-0 USC probably feels slighted by Penn State leap froging them into the #1 spot in the BCS this week, but all is well in SoCal. USC controls their own destiny in getting a shot at the National Championship Game. The Trojans remaining schedule is not an easy one with a trip to Corvallis, Oregon to take on the Beavers, then a home game against Georgia. Then the annual throw down with crosstown rival UCLA at the Rose Bowl. 3 TCU 11-0 The Hornfrogs sit and wait for one of the top 2 teams to lose. With one game left on their schedule (@ New Mexico), its almost certain TCU will be undefeated at seasons end. Should Penn State or USC slip, the Frogs might just slide into the National Championship Game! 4 Oregon 8-1 Hokies Ducks are in a tough spot. With one loss, the Ducks are on the outside looking in. The only real shot they have is if Penn State and USC both lose. However, the Ducks have some business to take care of. They travel to Auburn this week, then get Arizona at home and finish off the season with annual Civil War in Corvallis against Oregon State. A shot at NC game seems unlikely but you never know. 5 Alabama 9-1 Cnic showed up a day late and a dollar short as the Tide already had one loss when he took over. Nevertheless, the Tide has been rolling through the SEC since his return to the league. The Iron Bowl is all that remains for the Tide before a possible birth in the SEC Championship Game. It will take a real miracle for Bama to get into the NC game this year. 6 Ohio State 9-1 Last weeks loss to Penn State shut the door on any National Championship dreams the Buckeyes may have had. However, a BCS bowl is still well within reach. With remaining games at Iowa and home against Michigan, if they win those they most certainly assured a spot in of the BCS Bowl Games. 7 Virginia Tech 7-2 The Hokies sit at #7 in the BCS but still have some work to do get a BCS Bowl Bid. With only 2 games remaining on the schedule, it looks as if they will certainly make the Big 12 CG. 9 Georgia Tech 9-1 The Rambling Wreck look to secure a spot in the ACC Championship Game. With only Duke remaining on the schedule, they are almost certain to do so. Although a shot at the National Championship is out, the Yellow Jackets can still secure a BCS Bowl by winning the ACC. 10 Wisconsin 8-1 Wisconsin is in a tough spot. Sitting behind Penn State and Ohio State in the Big 10. They still have Michigan and Northwestern on their schedule. If Ohio State should slip, look for Wisconsin to jump up and take that BCS bid.
