    Trade Proposal: Bengals/Rams

Rams desperately need starting caliber WRs and Bengals have the depth at the position to give up some and improve MLB position.

    Bengals give: Rating Age Potential
    WR Antonio Bryant 83 30 (B)
    WR Andre Caldwell 75 26 (B)
    MLB Dahani Jones 82 33 (B)
    DT Domata Peko 85 26 (A)

    Rams Give:
    WR Donnie Avery 75 27 (B)
    WR Mardy Gilyard 70 24 (B)
    MLB James Laurinaitis 85 24 (A)
    DT Fred Robbins 80 34 (B)

this deal sees u improve ur WR, AND DT by a lot.. and gve up very LITTLE on ur MLB.

the cpu HAS TO WIN by a lot for a deal to go down.

here is how i think the rest of the committe wud approve this

    Bengals give: Rating Age Potential
    Antonio Bryant 83 30 (B)
    Dahani Jones 82 33 (B)

    Rams Give
    Donnie Avery 75 27 (B)
    Mardy Gilyard 70 24 (B)
    James Laurinaitis 85 24 (A)

see the cpu wins. i wud suggest u go talk to a USER so u dont get shorted..

The deal goes the other way. I am the Bengals.

And only reason I didn't approach a user is that none have the combination of such a need at WR where I have tons of depth and the young MLB to anchor my D that I am looking to give up something for.

I would jump on the deal above plus Caldwell from my side

You should include each players position in your proposal.

This is really difficult because there are a ton of moving parts. First let me say I decline this trade. Now let me try to word this so you can make modifications to try and get this to fly.

Essentially this deal is Peko for Laurinaitis. Both young A potential players though admittedly Peko is older than Laurinaitis. Avery is mediocre at 27 and likely won't be going up but down AND that is relatively close as Caldwell is likely in the same boat though Caldwell likely will progress a 2-4 points after this year so that makes his value a little higher than Avery which is good since you're trying to trade with the CPU. I'd have to check their speed etc though to really be sure if thats fair.

Then you factor in a pretty even swap with Dhani Jones for Fred Robbins.

Now heres where things are too unbalanced and remember the idea is for things to slightly favor the CPU.

Gilyard is 24 and is a rookie so he will likely jump 9-10 points in his first two seasons and will likely top out around 81-83 by the time he is 27-28. Thats just a guess of course but it certainly tags his value as being higher than Antonio Bryant who is already 30 and is injury prone albeit an 83ovr. Thats not even factoring that Gilyard could jump more than that AND Bryant could decline quickly.

    So to summarize

    Laurinaitis for Peko: Adv Cincy
    Avery for Caldwell: Adv Stl
    Jones for Robbins: Even
    Gilyard for Bryant: Adv Cincy

Also I'm not taking into consideration anything about the cap or specifically what the needs of each team are (outside of what I already known.) Regardless, this is the types of trade worth discussing and figuring out whereas some trades I've seen are just ridiculous. I'm simply encouraged by the fact that you seem to understand that you've gotta give up something to get something.

I think it's pretty close, but I'm going to have to decline as well... If you're interested, I'm looking to move David Hawthorne who is a good young linebacker.

Laurinaitis is my real target and Caldwell for Avery is tading hands for speed. I was more trying to ensure that StL ended up with a significantly improved WR corps and that was why I wanted to include Bryant.

How about pulling Gilyard from the trade and including WR Laurent Robinson 70 26 (B) or Danny Amendola 67 25 (C)

    or

    adjusting the trade to be
Bryant, Peko, Jones for Avery, Laurinaitis and Robbins

Not really interested in Hawthorne unless you would be willing to package Clausen in some kind of deal.

3 proposals to resolve the issue (Dre if you were cool with the trade before seems this would work as well, Keller seems like all of these resolve your issue and Geiger if it was close seems like one of these might push it over the edge)

    1. Rams get a true #1 receiver but give up some age (3 years), basically a hands for speed switch of two. Age/Rating/Potential switch DL and LBs
    Bengals give: Rating Age Potential
    WR Antonio Bryant 83 30 (B)
    MLB Dahani Jones 82 33 (B)
    DT Domata Peko 86 26 (A)

    Rams Give:
    WR Donnie Avery 75 27 (B)
    MLB James Laurinaitis 85 24 (A)
    DT Fred Robbins 80 34 (B)

    2. Rams get what amounts to a #1 & #2 receiver for them but give up some age for better overall rating, again both switches are more polished receivers (hands route running, awareness) for speed and elusiveness; same defensive switch
    Bengals give: Rating Age Potential
    WR Antonio Bryant 83 30 (B)
    WR Andre Caldwell 75 26 (B)
    MLB Dahani Jones 82 33 (B)
    DT Domata Peko 85 26 (A)

    Rams Give:
    WR Donnie Avery 75 27 (B)
    WR Laurent Robinson 70 26 (B)
    MLB James Laurinaitis 85 24 (A)
    DT Fred Robbins 80 34 (B)

    3. Rams GREATLY improve their WR corps top to bottom and again basically a wash on defense.
    Bengals give: Rating Age Potential
    WR Antonio Bryant 83 30 (B)
    WR Andre Caldwell 75 26 (B)
    MLB Dahani Jones 82 33 (B)
    DT Domata Peko 85 26 (A)

    Rams Give:
    WR Donnie Avery 75 27 (B)
    WR Danny Amendolo 67 25 (C)
    MLB James Laurinaitis 85 24 (A)
    DT Fred Robbins 80 34 (B)

Again basically in all three I am switching defensive strength with the Rams giving them a young star potential 4-3 style DT and an older solid MLB for their young star potential MLB and older solid 3-4 style DT.

The receivers are thrown in to add benefit to the Rams at a position of need. All three trades I feel I am losing to varying degrees with respect to the receivers. The speed that I pick up from Avery is more than offset by his god awful hands.

The reason I am willing to give on the receivers and DT is because it allows me to work Shipley into the slot with Bryant and Caldwell gone and I am basically rolling the dice that Avery will be able to play the deep threat 2 receiver when Owens retires this season and allow Shipley to flourish in the slot.

Defensively I am working toward a shift to the 3-4 in the offseason and at least I get a space eating 320+ run stopper for the loss in talent and potential with Peko.

After looking at Avery's stats I think his value is quite a bit higher than I expected.

This proposal is easiest since it has the least amount of parts. I say swap Avery for Laurent Robinson in this proposal and I approve this.

speed is undervalued in the game, and avery is a return threat. your giving up WR's and LB on the decline. I still decline it, people are undervaluing avery that are grading this trade.

Okay this is a done deal then. Grats on our first CPU trade Bomber.

I will probably drop the computers players into FA tonight so please drop your players asap.

    Thanks.

I will close this thread once the players are on the correct teams.

    *edit*
Don't forget to add these players to your salary cap spreadsheet and roster management threads. My goal is to eventually have every single teams spreadsheet done but I haven't gotten around to it. Since I haven't you'll have to add these players to your spreadsheet. Follow the same process for adding these guys and I will verify them against the roster we are currently using.
