I haven't played a user game in this OD since I came back. I would pull Manuel off the list. Just my $0.02.

Noted. Guess he won't be making the "finalists" category

It is a good list, and maybe if the Cougs had a better record than 7-5, Robert Jiles would be on the list. At end of the day, Robert Jiles probably wouldn't be a finalist, but the guy has set the single season record for yards and catches at WSU. Through Week 13 he has 76 receptions, 1198 yards, 9 TDs. He leads the PAC-10 in both categories. Maybe he needs more TDs, I just throw it to whoever is open.

Very nice work BlondeRedHead. I gotta give my boy Walters some props. Almost every one on the list is a junior or senior but he is a freshman.

Ya him and PSU's LE are the only underclassmen. To be honest I was completely surprised at Cody Green's stats, because I've been using Taylor Martinez quite a lot too. But damn, 2000 passing yards and 1000 rushing yards? That's gotta be some kind of record

Impressive but Whaley beasted this year, as did Calhoun and Thigpen. This may be the year of the HB

I would probably give it to the frosh, Larry Walters. Impressive run for a first year starter.

I was thinking Whaley because he has been a beast since that early loss to OSU. I guess we could decide it by the winner of the championship game.

Way to open up a fresh wound :). Stop giving Whaley more motivation to run my team over.

How is it possible that Thompson wins the heisman in a landslide. Here are the stats below:

Thompson: 207 carries 1,431 yrds and 29 tds.
Whaley: 303 carries 2,185 yrds and 33 tds.

Whaley also wins Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Award, and the Doak Walker Award that is given to the BEST running back!

It is a conspiracy I tell you! The world hates Texas!!

I vote for Whaley as that stampede goes deep into my memory, but even though the "Whale" didn't win the Heisman, the Doak and Maxwell are good awards.

Well, maybe they looked at how many more chances Whaley had - he had nearly 100 more carries.

If I extrapolate Thompson's stats to the same number of carries as Whaley he would have 2,094 yards and 43 TD's. So there.....

I do feel your pain though Slick, but take heart - Whaley won every other offensive award a HB can get and he's about to make millions in the NFL! :)

Whaley was a non-factor in the BCS championship so maybe he couldn't get over the shock of losing the Heisman. Unfortunately I still lost.
