I'm a huge WoT and Sword of Truth fan as well. Also really liked the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. Been reading that genre since middle school and have enough books in plastic storage boxes to start a nerd library.

Jmustang1968 I'm also really excited for the sequel to Way of Kings. That series is gonna be amazing if the following books are half as good as the 1st.

Yes it was quite good. I almost hate starting a series this early though as the wait between books is so long. I sometimes like started a series once it is finished and just knocking them out. Sanderson is definitely one of the top scifi/fantasy authors right now.

I agree, WoT is proof of that and I didn't start reading them until they were halfway done.

Have you not fixed your sarcast-o-meter, yet?

I don't mind that she reads as much as she minds that I spend ungodly amounts of time babysitting you faggots. As long as we take care of our shit, both of us deal with it. It sure beats nagging and other such undesirable actions.

I knew you were being sarcastic... but I was still saying I like it. Nagging is annoying that's for sure I do not deal with that.

If you enjoyed "Fingerprints of the Gods", you should check out "The Ancient Alien Question" by Phillip Coppens. There was a lot of stuff in there I've never heard of!

I hear they are filming an Enders Game movie currently.

I read the book recently, but noticed you mentioned books, as in plural. Aren't the others just from other viewpoints but during the same timeline as the first one?

Some of that shit in the book is CRAZY. I'm thinking about re-reading it just because there is so much information in there. There are some interesting aspects of ancient history that popular history ignores. So many similarities around the globe between civilizations that has ZERO contact with one another. Now, how do you explain similar believes, rituals, drawings, etc between Incans, Chinese and African cultures?

I agree. Also would be bad ass if there ended up being some validity to it. I wouldn't be shocked if there was an ancient civilization that set the precedent for all others. Whether or not this civilization had cosmic origins is another story. Until they find any evidence of this though, it will be chalked up as pseudo science.

The same way you explain two separate men coming up with Calculus on opposite sides of the planet. Or perhaps they all believe in the same God. There's a shocker!

Reading wise I'm a book worm so Im going to name just a few.
    Chaucer's Canterbury tales was good.
Didn't see one To Kill A Mockingbird- Harper Lee on here. Might have missed it tho. AMAZING BOOK!
Bobby Pendragon series- D.J. MacHale. I enjoyed that with much interest.
    Harry Potter-JK Rowling. Nuff said.
Aliens ate my Homework series-Bruce Coville. Kiddish but enjoyed a ton!
Jeremy Thatcher Dragon Hatcher-Bruce Coville. Sci-Fi kids but enjoyable.
Animorphs series- K. A. Applegate. Great quick reads
Left Behind Series(adults and kids)-Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. Rapture till Jesus comes back. Well put together.
This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness(The Angel Books)- Frank Peretti. Good books on the power of Prayer
The Visitation- Frank Peretti. Nothing is ever as it appears
Hangmans Curse- Frank Peretti. Good solid read
Prophet- Frank Peretti. TV Cover ups
Black- Ted Dekker. Reality is real. Right?
Just to name a few. I read all the time.

Currenltly on The Mentor Leader-Tony Dungy.

And you can explain the Nazca Lines? What about modernly aerodynamic, flight capable, models dated back to ancient times - "the golden flyer"? http://www.mysterypile.com/quimbaya.php

Its not just one piece of evidence that is all that compelling - its the sheer amount of evidence, around the globe, that just makes you wonder.

Nah. Its not my job to explain these phenomenon. Just to be amazed and go " OK what was I working on again?" God is described as Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Omniscient. In english thats everywhere at the same time, all knowing, and having complete and limitless knowledge

So you can explain Calculus being discovered on opposite sides of the planet but when you can't explain something you just turn a blind eye to all the evidence? Super.

    1. Do you have a bad internet connection? I got 2 alerts on this post and 3 on the last one.
2.That was how I explained Calculus. You want my explanation for any mystery? God. The creator of the universe. That is what I choose to believe and explain it all. Am I amazed at this stuff? You bet I am! but I don't question it. I admire it just like I do every sunset & sunrise. The only thing we are guaranteed is what we have already done. So question the illogical but don't obsess. Do I wanna know how Stonehenge was created? Yes. Does it really matter? No. Do I sit back and think about Atlantis? Yes. Does it matter today? No.

The site is just acting weird today.

Its part of human nature, IMO, to want to understand where we came from. People dedicate their lives to understanding history. I believe there is a large portion of history that is still not being taught in classrooms, what we've touched on here is only a small fraction of it. If you ask me religion is a big reason why so in that context it does matter, IMO.

Go into it with an open mind and educate yourself on Ancient Alien theory. You said you read a lot so read what Fmode posted above. If you're as devout of a believer as you come off as being, its not going to change your mind. But maybe, just maybe, it will open your eyes a little.

agreed on the site and on the un taught history. True the world was governed, and still is some places, by a theocracy which is why some history is uknown but you realize that the other problem with history is that history is wrote by the victor. Until now that is. Now both sides tell there stories, thank you D.O.D. Don't get me wrong. Huge history buff here. Love this sorta stuff. Different theories for different phenomena. I am open to everything. Devout huh? lol. I just let nothing shake my faith. Never been called devout before. it's weird. Only when you cease the want for knowledge and enlightenment is when you become completely useless to society.

We did not evolve from slime. I never looked into that aspect of it tho. Find " the missing link" and we'll talk. Now the point that species change, or evolve, over time? Yes. Proven time and time again. Survival of the smartest.

mooseboyj Doesn't that directly contradict what the bible says though? I'm just curious how as a believer you come to terms with some of the explanations of human origin presented in Genesis. For example. Do you think that the first woman on this planet was formed from the rib of a man?

In your example I do. Am I supposed to think that Slime became man AND woman? In which ways does the bible say we evolve from slime? You post is very confusing. Or maybe its just the fact its early on a monday-tuesday.
