I'm not sure if they are leaving it the same in the final copy, but the animation is WAY more risk/reward. In Madden 13, if your timing is poor you get that "stumble" animation. Now you actually sell out to make the tackle, so you go flying past the ball carrier, if you are lucky you will get an arm out and make the ball carrier stumble or trip. I much prefer it to the old style...feels way more rewarding when you just light someone up.
Have they ever considered making the hit stick a "skill stick" ? For example James Harrison hit stick would lay you out (dirty most likely, bastard) as where Tillman or the Honey Badger would try to strip you vs big hit , or maybe poke a pass away , etc.
I could be wrong, but this has been in madden in the past. I haven't tried it this year, but I'd bet it's the same. Hold down A and the CPU basically takes over your player and will go for the tackle/play the zone he's suppose to play, etc.
Just curious if the difference in player size is noticeable on the field. Also, curious if mismatches make a difference. For example, some guys like to move smaller, faster OLB's to DE in order to improve their ability to rush the QB. However, by doing so, often times they are giving up strength and size on the outside which should create more of an advantage for the Oline blocking assignment, particularly in the running game, unless the LB is pure talent all-around. Also, will we be able to apply defensive assignments in the game this year; or too soon to tell?
Is there a way to see who the exact personnel is that will be out on the field for the offense? Or is it still just by position?
I'm not sure about defensive match ups. For the rest of your question, I think ratings supersedes size the vast majority of the time.
I think I understand how the stamina meter works. My question is does the stamina meter scale depending on the length of the quarters? i know most leagues usually play 7 minutes or less quarters.
You ever play FIFA? Basically you have two measurements...current stamina and max stamina. Max stamina declines as the game goes on. As for relating to quarter length, I doubt it does. There is a fatigue slider to change the effect though.
To touch on the changes in blocking, can you adjust or see assignments for OLinemen? Would be nice to be able to see and maybe change assignments similar to the defensive side of the ball.
I keep hearing how ratings matter. Curious is the speed rating still the most dominate rating in the new madden? Tired of seeing guys who are fast like a WR but has horrible other ratings being able to dominate a game.
No, besides the same block left, block right mechanism there is no adjustment. Not sure about seeing assignment, not all the play art was in the build I played.
I'm not sure, I never play on default sliders at home, so I can't relate to that. If you adjust the speed threshold appropriately you don't have speed be the end all be all rating, IMO.
Looks like alot of read option next year Kap and Griffin also Cam to much to stop can u say NCAA 13 all over again
What are the different types of options? Do they have Midline out of the Shotgun? How different are the playbooks? Is there a huge variety or are there only going to be like 4 good PB? Are there any more hot route combinations? Like a TE Block & Release?
Is the hot route system the same? Meaning you can hot route as you please and create a whole new play.
A big issue of mine has been the inability to keep any sort of moment going after a move. Generally, it takes so long to do a move and then recover from it, that you don't end up getting very far after beating the guy. It seems as if the moves and stumble/recover mechanics are quicker animations this year. Would you say that's the case? I despise the number of big its in Madden and NCAA, particularly by the computer. Would you be able to say if you feel that number is generally the same this year? Lower? Higher?
1) Yes, you can recover instead of getting slammed every time. 2) I don't want to speculate on frequency on the final build. I will say there were far less fumbles created by big hits.
In this years game, is there total control of the player or can you pick a play and lay the sticks down and the CPU does everything like in this years game and past others.
