Oregon State Coach: We played hard today, and I was impressed with the performance. The defense needed to come up with a few more stops on that last drive and we would have beat the Gators.
Coach Cheez on his week 2 game vs. Arizona:
It's going to be interesting. Coach JFace has a good program over there, so it'll be fun to see how our young guys match up. Plus, I'm anxious to see how James does starting his first game.
Coach Cheez on naming James Blake the starting QB:
It was really tough. Both James and Dan worked really hard in camp this year, but it seemed like Blake had that little extra something. However, dont be shocked if Dan gets some reps vs. Arizona too. There are a few things we might try this year that we haven't in others.
Coach Cheez on Renaldo James:
We expect a big year from Renaldo. Out of all of the returning HBs, he ranked 3rd in yards last year - and that's while missing 2 games. With that said, if he doesn't look sharp then I'm not going to shy away from making the switch. We have numerous running backs capable of being productive.
Triplehorn nightmares in Westwood this week on the plane to Madison!
Oregon has replaced it's pro-style offensive coordinator and gone back to it's spread roots.
Huge game against the Bruins as 2 top notch recruits come to visit Madison for the game
Ugh...another loss to a top 10 team on the road and off to another...Autzen Stadium and the Ducks. Can you say 0-3 UCLA Bruins? And possibly still in the top 25
Dual QB system worked well for the Badgers, as Livingston and Herron combined to go 14-18 for 282 yards and 2 TDs with just one INT by Herron. The no huddle never really got up and running, as there were too many injury timeouts in the process. Should make for a high scoring fast paced affair with Notre Dame come next week.
