They will be looking to officially announce themselves as players in the national title scee with a win over the Vols. The Vols are back to back champions in Tradition and are seeing no signs of slowing down. Bryce Brown is averaging a staggering 8.9 yards a carry while QB Alexander has thrown for 14TD's already (8 of which have gone to speedy WR Carlson). Tennessee is a big play offense and Auburn will have to get a few stops to keep this a game. The athletes UT has is absurd to say the least. In order for Auburn to win this game, SR-RB Xavier Barnes HAS to be vital in the gameplan and has to be given the ball 25-30 times to control the clock. SR-QB Tyrik Rollison has cut down on the turnovers with 3INT's so far this year and he will need to keep those numbers the same if they have a shot at winning this. Auburn does have the advantage being at home and we don't know how well JR-QB Fred Alexander will respond to being away in a big game against a top team. OTHER BIG USER GAMES #12 FLORIDA STATE (3-0) @ #5 GEORGIA TECH (4-0) ---A huge game of epic proportions even though these two teams aren't in the same sub-division. FSU is riding high after a close win over Virginia Tech. One thing to worry about here for the Seminoles is how they blew a 20 point lead. That can't happen and going up against one of the top offensive minds in Tradition 1, FSU will have to step it up. As mentioned in the opening season TWIT preview, FSU has the defense to stop anyone in the nation but it's all about execution. They'll have to slow down the 2012 heisman winner Orwin Smith and pressure SR-QB Jordan Luallen to make bad reads in the passing game. GT is coming off back to back wins against ranked opponents. The secondary has come together well, covering their guys better but now their run defense has been suspect with VT's RB Nubian Peak running for 160 yards and 6TD's on them. They'll be going up against one of the top RB's in the nation in Lonnie Pryor who's averaging 161 yards a game. Things to key in for this game is SR-QB Will Secord is more of a pocket passing QB and he has 15TD's to 1INT on the year. GT would love to make this into a passing type game because they love to force turnovers and are always near the top in +/-. GT will have to keep an eye on 6'6'" WR Rodney Smith, who leads the team with 370 yards receiving and 6TD receptions. MIAMI (2-2) @ #4 NORTH CAROLINA (4-0) ---Gut check time for the Hurricanes. Everyone thought "DA U" was back after winning that national title but it's been downhill since then. They haven't been able to recruit those star athletes from their florida pipeline and more importantly, that swagger of "Da U" has been seriously lacking. Miami's recruiting efforts have been magnified to the point where people are wondering when will they make it back to the top? They've lost SR-RB M.James and have lost two CPU games already. Now they must go into UNC to face the #4 ranked team in the nation in the Tar Heels. UNC has simply improved greatly and are thanking Bly for leaving the ship. It has righted itself to a now top 5 ranking. But there's still work to be done. UNC hasn't reached an ACC title game in T1 and winning games like this will be the stepping stone in doing so. UNC must look to stop the Miami passing game, with SO-QB Adam Francis throwing for 1432 yards on the year. He's on pace to eclipse the 4000 yard mark, averaging 358 yards a game. Miami must look out for Dustin Clancy. Hit him hard and hit him early in hopes he leaves the game. Clancy is one of the more talented backs in the nation but he's brittle. In the Reggie Bush mold, he's performing great as Coach Blaza has found his niche in this offense. Clancy for UNC and Francis for Miami are the two keys for each squad. OTHER GAMES THIS WEEK #3 GEORGIA (4-0)- 58, VANDY (0-4)- 7---No contest as Georgia seems to not miss Mike Anderson.......yet. #2 ALABAMA (4-0) Has a bye #15 LSU (3-1) @ MISSISSIPPI STATE (2-1)- LSU is coming off a tough loss and trying not to become debbie downer in the process. #17 VIRGINIA TECH (1-2) @ DUKE (2-1)- VT has two conference losses but hopes to take down Duke behind their freshman QB. WAKE FOREST (1-2) @ #8 CLEMSON (3-1)- Clemson recently took a shot at VT, saying, "they will never matter"...fighting words! #11 FLORIDA (4-1)- 59, KENTUCKY (2-2)- 35- Florida had to score a ton of points while their defense continues to struggle a bit.
