Knockout rounds start tomorrow. A bunch of great matchups. I can't wait for the Spurs-Milan matchup (in no small part because of my rooting interest). Arsenal-Barca and Marseille-Man U could be a lot of fun too.
Really really looking forward to this as well. Champion's League is my favorite competition. It's going to take a miracle but if Arsenal can get past Barca I will be ecstatic. Everyone is writing us off so hopefully the Catalans will come in a little over confident. Also RVP has been playing out of his mind lately, I think he is good for at least 2 goals over the course of the entire tie.
Man I hope Arsenal can take down the mighty Barcelona but I'm not holding my breath. I would also love to see my Marseille squad beat up damn United. On a different topic, I really wish I would have kept Marseille.. Really loved that team.
RVP is playing great, was really hoping he would have gotten the chance at a hat trick this past weekend. Honestly, I just don't see anyone playing as well as Barcelona.
Home and home. Aggregate. Road goals being the tie breaker. If thats knotted up they go to PKs in the second match.
Can we keep this conversation in this thread. I usually DVR games and don't get to watch right away. I'd hate to get spoiled about it.
Does anyone know if the local Fox Sports channels are covering one live game each day or are they doing everything on FSC? FSC is a premium channel for my cable provider and i can't afford to splurge Back in AK we had it for the longest time and then one morning i woke up and found out they switched it to a premium channel. I was NOT pleased.
We've got to find a pub in between us, JFace. IDK what you have but I have Dish with the local sports addition and the FCS is not included. Dish is garbage though so.........
Of course I have class at 330. I'll probably miss the end of the first half and I'll have to find a stream at some point. And if I find a good stream to the Spurs-Milan match, I'll post it up here for you guys.
Although I love Samir, I'd prefer to see him come off the bench. The Prem needs to be our focus as it is my most winnable 'big' competition at the moment. Give Arshavin a run on the left with Theo on the right and RVP up the middle. Now I know this a huge risk since Nasri actually gets stuck in and defends while AA23 does no such thing. But, we are going to have to slant our defense towards the right side anyway to contain Dani Alves. Give Nasri some extra rest at home and bring him on as a sub for a 20 minute cameo.
I'm pretty pumped about the AC Milan v Tottenham fixture. Milan went has gone from aging old hangs to possessing a top 5 attack in all of Europe in my opinion. Ibra has been on fire, Pato has regained fitness, and Robinho is always going to be tricky. Tottenham are cunts and without their best player in Bale for this one, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them take some punishment.
Speaking of Milan, Cassano has been a revelation for the Milanese. He's everything you want in an attacker, tricky, pacey, and intelligent. I think AC Milan will run away with Serie A.
The Tottenham midfield is all sorts of screwy right now. Everyone is down/recovering from an injury. I'll be ecstatic if we manage escape today with a draw.
I've got the spinoff of Dish. Ygnition. That whole satellite without the satellite bs. My apartment complex sucks like that. What is a good pub here to catch some futbol?
Oh my god, Cassano is brilliant. I was in a different fifa league a couple of years ago and this dude always was yapping about Cassano.. He would send links to hightlights and whatnot all the time. I never really had a chance to watch him closely but I was able to watch the Milan game over the weekend and he easily was the best player on the pitch.. I can't remember how many brilliant little touches or decisions he made. He didn't score a goal but he set up Seedorf and Robinho for beautiful goals. I was also able to catch some of the Juve/Inter game. What a monster win for my Juve club. Krasic is the real deal and Marchisio was fantastic. Can't wait for the transfer update to see what the squad looks like after getting Toni and Matri.
I watched both of those games as well. Isn't Cassano a little magician out there? None of the defenders could even get close to him and when they did, he dribbled around them like cones. I watched a fair amount of him over the years and I always thought he'd fall off since he's always suspended or kicked off his club lol. But his class is evident still--he had a nice game for Italy mid-week in the friendlies as well. That was a big result for Juve. They looked very solid defensively (vs Inter who looked uncharacteristically horrid at teh back). Toni also looked good especially in the 1st half. It is still a little funny to see Juve playing Chileni at LB, although he did pretty well. Melo had a good game--locked Sneijder up in his back pocket.
For people looking for links to watch the game... go here http://88.80.11.29/ . It has links to both games today and it wont give you a virus or anything (I use it all the time).
