    2011 Class - Best Recruits

    Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4 Column 5
Player Position Overall Rating 2011 Outlook Beyond 2011
Brian Hicks OLB 82 Backup/Special Teams Good speed but needs to bulk up, future starter
Corey Vincent HB 81 Redshirt Good speed and should develop into starting HB, depth at HB may hold him back a bit
Rod Keyes OLB 80 Backup/Special Teams Should develop into solid starter, good size and very athletic
Marcus Gutierrez DT 79 Backup Already a junior so not much time to develop, career backup likely
William Williams DT 78 Backup Good size and should develop into solid #2 DT in 4-3 D
Jay Carter OT 78 Backup Another player who should develop into starter, probably his junior season
Travis Carlson OG 78 Backup Solid rotation player who is a couple years away from starting

Not the kind of class the Tar Heels needed after losing a lot of stars in the offseason. The team really needs to emphasize recruiting in the 2011 season and can't afford another subpar recruiting class.
