Coach Fuzzy was hired to take the Tar Heels to the ACC Championship, and beyond. With his balanced prostyle attack on offense, and aggressive defense that produces top 10 numbers every year, Coach Fuzzy was a perfect fit for how the Tar Heels wanted to play football.

Tar Heels Clinch Important Division Win
The Tar Heels faced a tough challenge this week, with a road game against hated rival Virginia. The winner of this game is sure to clinch the division, which would be a first for either team. UVA started the game with a BANG after their KR WR Dominique Terrell took the opening kick-off to the house for a 98 yard TD. UNC could only respond with a TD, put their defense forced a three-and-out on UVA's next drive. Another drive, and another FG for UNC. This is not the slow start they wanted. As UVA held the lead 7-6 and was driving down the field, backup FS Eric Battle picked off Watford and returned the INT for a 73 yard TD. This would set the tone for UVA's passing game, as Watford completed only 11 out of 25 passes for 156 yds, 0 TDs, and 4 INTs.
The Tar Heels piled on the points in the second quarter with two TD passes by Marquise Williams, one was a short completion to Andy Smith, the other was a 48 yd strike to WR TJ Thorpe. UVA managed to score a FG, but turned the ball over a few times before the half. UNC also tacked on another FG to take a 31-10 lead at the half. UVA added another TD in the third to tighten things up, but both offenses sputtered the rest of the game with turnovers. UNC walks away with a 31-17 victory, and may just make their first ever appearance in the CCG against Wake or Clemson.
