Hey everybody, I have a huge problem. I bought an xbox for very cheap (my last one red-ringed) and now this one will not even turn on. It's been a month since I bought it. There is no red ring or anything like that, it just won't turn on, like there is nothing powering it. Anyone have any experience with this? I have a user game tonight and my reputation with this kind of stuff is bad to say the least. Is this a problem with the circuitry in the actual console or an adapter issue? Any quick fixes? Please help!

I wonder if that's why it was so cheap. :p

I don't really have a fix... assuming you've made sure that everything is plugged in completely. If you've got nothing to lose, you could try smacking the top of it firmly with your fist... something might be slightly out of place. It helps me sometimes when I get the disc tray error.

I will try that as a solution once I make sure this is not an adapter issue.
And yeah, thats probably why it was cheap. Not a lot of money to spend, what can I say lol

It's possible the the power adapter is bad. Try using the one from your old xbox.

Are you getting the orange light on your power brick? if not it is likely the problem.

Has the power surged? Sounds like power supply on box is shot. Not the power brick. The actual power supply in console
