Holy shaky defensive back line Batman! Any thoughts on the roster Klinnsman called up for these next two WCQ? RedAL925
Lack of fullbacks is concerning. Beltran & Morrow do nothing for me, I expect Cameron to slide outside and (maybe) Brek Shea at the other spot. Midfield is fine as long as he doesn't start 3+ CDMs like he has in the past. I'd like to see Kljestan get a start with Bradley & Jones or Beckerman. All the forwards in the team are those I expect to be at WC.
I wouldn't be surprised if Edu is rolled out at CB for this game also. Kljestan has been in good form but also has Joe Corona.
I'm a bit worried either way, I feel like this group will struggle to find creativity in the mid field. If they lack a lot of energy, they'll get beat again.
We're really going to have to count on our central midfielders to break up play. Like you guys said, it's not going to be an incredibly strong back 4, so the more help from Bradley and Jones snuffing out attacks early the better our chances. Agreed with Jon here too. A lack of creativity in midfield could really hurt us, you know Costa Rica is going to sit back a bit so we'll really need somebody to step up and unlock that D.
Will they though? They've had very good success against us (3-2-0 or something like that). With Bryan Ruiz and Saborio, I wouldn't be surprised to see them try to take advantage of the back line, especially down their right where DMB will most likely be manning LB
For some reason I feel like they've had a lot of success countering on us and Ruiz just making plays. That said, I honestly don't remember any of our games against them all that well right now, so I could be wrong I don't think they'll exactly throw body forwards at us, but I do feel like they'll try to be fairly direct in attacking our back line.
Hopefully i will have this cut out into a poster to take into the game. Didnt want to chance that they wouldn't let me board the plane with it already made so gonna assemble it when we get to our hotel room. Thing is like 3.5 feet long. Well boys hitting the sack then off to Denver tomorrow morning.
I'm jealous. Toledo has 0 soccer bars. I can think of maybe one place that would even have the game on.
This place is a disappointment though. I expected a full bar with an exciting crowd like they show during games sometimes. This place is nowhere close to that.
Still. I'm sitting at home drinking by myself watching the game and talking to people in chatbox. I'll trade you
A couple of pics from our seats. Did end up getting the Deuce face up on a cardboard but by half it was all to hell with the snow. I did see it on the broadcast briefly 3 times when I rewatched the game when I got back home. Also if there is gonna be a mini TSO meet up in Columbus for the Mexico game count me in cause after the Costa Rica game I am definitely gonna fly up for the Mexico game.
Yeah I went prepared with the thick coat and thermals. Some dudes were out there in shorts however and I'm not talking about the players
