USC Game Summaries - Year 2

    Week 1

The season opener for USC found the Nebraska Cornhuskers thrashing the Trojans, 44-0, unable to get anything going offensively and defensively, the Trojans were outmatched in every aspect of this game. When interviewed by ESPN analyst, Coach Renegade-Ice commented, "it's back to the drawing board for us in the coming weeks...we have got to be able to spread the defense and create better mismatches for our receivers than what we did here today." In losing QB Mark Sanchez to the NFL, the Trojans are seeking out his replacement by utilizing QB A. Corp, QB M. Mustain, and even Fr QB Schmidtz...we will keep an eye on this situation as the year develops.

In what appeared to be a game that would be decided on the ground, both teams entered into this competition with high hopes for the coming season. The Trojans enter this year without HB sensation Stephon Johnson and their impressive wide receiving corps. However, the Trojans will turn to Jr HB sensation Joe McKnight to carry the load. Entering into this game, it was a battle for field position, as each team was forced to punt the ball away in the first quarter, and resulted in a 3-0 score by way of FG by the Trojans, when they were successful in getting within their kicker's range.

Alright I'll put the bowl game summary up here. Sorry I it took me so long to get to it.

The Holiday Bowl turned into basically the new coach learning his teams capabilities in a real big game environment. Kansas St. tried to seize the opportunity of having the distraction of staff changes act as a diversion and came out an play inspired ball early. But the Trojans superior talent eventually won out as they come away with a 38-19 victory.
