USC Trojan Game Summaries
University of Southern California
great stuff man, i just may have to do one of those myself.
Oregon State Beavers - 33
USC Trojans - 45
Game Recap: After consecutive losses to ranked teams in Stanford and Oregon, the USC Trojans have abandoned the run-first, pass-later style that had made them so successful in the past years. In the last couple of games, coach k10 has allowed Matt Barkley loose and the results for the team has been fairly good. The Trojans have four straight wins, but only one against a ranked team (Washington).
This week against the Oregon State Beavers, a fumble and interception seemed to have doomed the Trojans just before the half as the Beavers capitalized and lead 33-21. Fortunately, Barkley would continue his best Brett Favre impression and lead the Trojans to a come-from-behind victory with 24 unanswered points in the second half.
Player of the Game: WR Brice Butler, 8 catches, 211 yards, 3 touchdowns
UCLA Bruins - 24
USC Trojans - 38
Game Recap: The USC Trojans hosted the UCLA Bruins in a battle for bragging rights of being the best school within the Los Angeles area. Matt Barkley and the Trojans came away with the victory, 38-24, but the game was not as close as the final score indicates. Halfback Ken Robinson, who has finally found his stride after missing games with a leg injury, controlled the pace of the game with his strong running. Barkley was his usual self, throwing for 245 yards, 4 touchdowns and 1 rushing touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball, the Trojans were able to pick off UCLA quarterback Richard Brehaut 3 times.
Player of the Game: QB Matt Barkley, 16-for-23, 245 yards, 4 touchdowns, 1 rushing touchdown
