    User Controlled Safety Guidelines

These aren't black and white rules, they are guidelines since there are always going to be instances where there is an exception. With that being said, if a complaint is filed aganst you and you error on the wrong side of these guidelines, you will be in trouble. We all know what a SIM philsophy is so stick to it.

In all defenses, the FS should stay at least 10 yards deep off the LOS. The FS should not be crashing down on run plays as his first reaction. If you wish to play the run, use one of the front 7 or a SS.

If lining up in man coverage or blitzing and playing cover 0 (no one covering the deep middle), you may walk the FS up inside 10 yards from the LOS to line up over his man to man responsibility.

The SS may come up into the box to play the run as this is more generally his responsibility on defense. The SS at times may operate more like a LB. With that being said, it would be preferred for the SS to not come inside 5 yards from the LOS.

If showing blitz or blitzing the SS, the SS may come within the 5 yard buffer area. However, this should be limited and used in a SIM fashion and not taken advantage of.

If neither of the safeties are user controlled and the CPU shifts them presnap, these guidelines do not apply.
