    User Games

Here's the user games I see right now. I'm going on memory, so correct me. Also, tell me what week any FCS games might be in, and when your open weeks are. It will help me make matches.

    The List

AG - Ohio State (UM, Army, ND) FCS = none, Open = 14
    Blitz - Michigan (OSU, ND, 'Bama) FCS = 7, Open = 14 & 15
Dat - ND (UM, Pitt, OSU) FCS = none, Open = 6
Shaun - Army (Pitt, OSU) FCS = none, Open = 9
    Raz - Pitt (Army, ND) FCS = 1 Open = 9 & 12
*Hitman - Colorado (Texas, FSU) FCS = none, Open = 4
    *Basis - Florida (FSU, Alabama) FCS = 1, Open = 5
    *jmillhimes - Georgia Tech (Miami, FSU) FCS = 1, Open = 14
    *Bruce - Alabama (UF, UM) FCS = 12, Open = 9
*Reagle - Texas (Buffs) FCS = none, Open = 5
*AMP - FSU (Miami, UF, Buffs, GT) FCS = 2, Open = 7
    *Cole - Miami (FSU, GT) FCS = 6, Open = 2

    * = potential user vs. user championship game.

The perfect schedule would provide user games in as many weeks as possible, without too many in any individual week. I don' think it's required that we all have an equal number, but we should go for some kind of balance.

I just noticed MSU dropped off my schedule. I'll need a replacement game.

Pitt has an FCS game in Week One and an Open slot in Week 9.

I'd be up for an East-West series with UCLA. Maybe in his Week 4 open slot.

Judging by the looks of things, MSU would be a good fit in week one, and Army fits into week nine. Not saying this will happen, just that is helps to see the schedules like I do when I'm trying to work them up.

My schedule start's week 1 with a cupcake, then two tough conference games and Oklahoma. 10/10 I play Florida A&M so there is a possibility for a user game there. I can't help fill UCLA's unless I drop my week 2 bye and move it to the A&M date. I had fun playing Rech with Cal and wouldn't mind doing so again. No Florida this year so I can also help with filling Pitt or Army's schedule if needed. I have 5 road conference games and 4 home conference games so I would need atleast one of those to be at my place.

    OK fellas -

It's time to revisit the schedules, since we have a new member. This might require a little re-arranging:

    These are only suggestions:

    1. FSU is a bit overloaded - should probably drop Colorado
    2. Alabama should drop Michigan, pick up Texas. It's a regional thing, and Texas could use it.
    3. Colorado should pick up Michigan, reviving the old rivalry.

Now, I'm not all that concerned with how many games a team has, especially if a team is likely to start out rated a bit lower than other teams. Also, I am less concerned about user games for guys playing in championship game situations. If my suggestions are accepted, we'll look like this:

AG - Ohio State (UM, Army, ND) FCS = none, Open = 14
    Blitz - Michigan (OSU, ND, Buffs) FCS = 7, Open = 14 & 15
Dat - ND (UM, Pitt, OSU) FCS = none, Open = 6
Shaun - Army (Pitt, OSU) FCS = none, Open = 9
    Raz - Pitt (Army, ND) FCS = 1 Open = 9 & 12
*Hitman - Colorado (Texas, UM) FCS = none, Open = 4
    *Basis - Florida (FSU, Alabama) FCS = 1, Open = 5
    *jmillhimes - Georgia Tech (Miami, FSU) FCS = 1, Open = 14
    *Bruce - Alabama (UF, Texas) FCS = 12, Open = 9
*Reagle - Texas (Buffs, Alabama) FCS = none, Open = 5
    *AMP - FSU (Miami, UF, GT) FCS = 2, Open = 7
    *Cole - Miami (FSU, GT) FCS = 6, Open = 2

How does this look to you guys? What would you change?

I would like to add a non conference game for the years I don't play Florida. I was thinking either aArmy or Pitt since they don't have conference title games. Or else if Colorado or Texas want to replace my OU game this year.

My only suggestion would be that with Pitt and Army not having Conf Champ games, they might want to think about another user game. I'd offer to take a 4th and start up the Army-ND game, but I'll leave that up to Shaun. He's got a tough road regardless of whether or not he adds a 3rd user game.

Pitt's not a bad team though and plays Army (much lower rated) and ND (about the same, most likely), with no other Big East competition. Maybe former Big East foe Miami is a good fit this year.

And for the record, I'm not getting my shorts in a bunch over guys not having enough competition and having an "easy" road to the NC. I just think more user competition is better for the league and better for CPU viability also.

I'd be up for one more user game, just trying to figure out the best fit. I was looking at Michigan State, then he left. Then I was eyeing an East-West deal with UCLA, but it looks like they're gone too.

Georgia Tech might be fun. Ditto for Colorado, though that one doesn't seem to make much sense.

I'll play anyone -- it doesn't matter. I would hope that Miami and FSU are on my schedule every year so that we can do a "Governor's Cup" round robin type thing, rather than just having the FSU-Florida rivalry called the Governor's Cup.

Those two plus Alabama makes 3 guaranteed user games, with the possibility for a 4th against 'Bama in the SECCG. If anyone else needs user OOC games, I am game!

I think Cole is saying he's looking for a game this year, but maybe I misinterpreted. I think Pitt-Miami makes some sense given the former Big East tie. Up to you guys, not trying to pressure anyone into anything.

Yeah in real life Florida and Miami play every other year. Since I'm locked into to atleast two conference games, I don't want to lock into the same out of conference opponent every year, like to mix it up.

These are some good suggestions. I think Army and Pitt picking up games is a good thing, and the Miami-Pitt thing sounds right, just like Colorado-Michigan and Alabama-Texas just sounds right. Army-ND is a good one, too.

GT plays 3 SEC teams (Miss State, Vandy, & UGA), so one of those could become a different SEC team, or another game altogether. I'll do whatever you guys want, so once we get an idea what changes we want to make, I'll update the list.

I'm fine with Pitt-Miami for the first year. With ND and Army long-term series, I'll keep the 3rd user game rotating.

    *Cole - Miami (FSU, GT, Pitt) FCS = 6, Open = 2

This reflects some of the changes we've been talking about. Any ideas about how we should proceed?

    Some games to consider:

1 - ND-GT is an old school rivalry of sorts
2 - Miami is not on Florida's schedule.

Also, I just looked, and Alabama isn't on Florida's schedule, either. Looks like we need to rework a few things. I'm open to suggestions.

    AG
