USF Results Season 2 (The Scarecr0w36 Era)

    Week 4

    South Florida (3-1) 14
    Louisville (1-3) 6

My first game as head coach of the USF progarm and this opening game was as ugly as the score shows. 4 Turnovers by the South Florida Bulls kept hope for the Cardinals throughout the game. Bulls QB, B.J. Daniels had 3 ints on 13 of 21 passing for 145 yds. Including one in the 3rd quarter when the Bulls were threatening to go up 21-0 on the 4 yard line. The South Florida defense looked very impressive holding Louisville to 196 yards of total offense. Another bright spot for USF was Senior RB Aston Samuels as he piled up 126 yards on 25 carries and a TD. There is much to be re-evaluated as new the head coach (Scarecr0w36) has a bye week upcoming.

Sounds like the old boys weren't so thrilled about a midseason coaching change!

Good job fighting through the TO's and getting the win.

If USF can start pulling in big time florida recruits they'll be fine.

Picking up that W is the important thing, I'm sure you will be fine once you get a few more under your belt w/USF. I'm with Dru on your recruiting, in a few seasons you should be completely loaded with talent.

I'm hoping that I can get more in sync with my players and their abilities week by week. The system change might take some weeks for the players to get used to, LOL. I'll take the W, but there is much room for improvement.

I was thinking Humanitarian Bowl, but Sugar Bowl might be more dramatic.

    #5 South Florida 27
    #23 Notre Dame 10

The South Florida Bulls looked better in their second game with new head coach Scarecrow as they defeat the Fighting Irish 27-10. The game was close throughout as Bulls QB B.J. Daniels looked confused throwing 4 Int's. Daniels finished 17-29, with 220 yards, 3 TD's, 4 Int's. Aston Samuels turned in another good performance on 27 carries, 132 yards. The Bulls look like they are still gelling under the new offensive scheme that Scarecrow is trying to instill.

I'll start off by saying that this was a great game and my hats off to Coach Hippo. This game really had everything: Offense, Defense, Big Plays, Drama.

The game started off with Coach Hippo driving his offense down the field without much resistance. Minnesota RB Eskridge was a handful, ripping off good runs consistently on 1st down. The 1st quarter was a dominant one for the Golden Gophers, yet they were only up 6-0. The USF defense bent, but didn't break. BJ Daniels got on track in the 2nd, connecting on a long pass play to WR Carlton Mitchell, giving the Bulls the 7-6 lead. Late in the 2nd, the Bulls were threatening again to put points up on the board, but Minnesota picked off a crucial 3rd down pass to prevent a larger deficit.

The 2nd half started with USF keeping the momentum with another long pass play to Carlton Mitchell and a FG to push the lead to 17-6. It was gut check time for Coach Hippo and his squad as they quickly responded to tally a TD. Minnesota going for 2 and succeeding shrunk my lead to 3, 17-14. The ball went back and forth in the 4th quarter as I tried to grind the clock and escape with a W.

Late in the 4th, I found myself in a precarious situation facing a 4th and 1, inside the 10 yard line. I lined up for the FG, with my full intentions of stretching the lead to 6, thus forcing Minnesota to score a TD on no timeouts with only a little over a minute to play. As the play clock wound down, I suddenly defied my conservative logic and called timeout and decided to go for the killshot. I called a FB dive to FB Richard Kelly and snapped the ball... Stuffed! My immediate reaction: "(While clutching my chest) Oh my god, what have I done?!? Not good." Minnesota took over and proceeded to try to tie the game up. Making it down to his own 45 yard line with 8 seconds to go, Minnesota ran out of time on a completion that put them close to FG range... whew!

Overall great game. I was very lucky not to be down 0-14 in the 1st quarter. Coach hippo stuffed my running game all day, while running the ball effectively himself. It came down to a couple of home runs that I connected on to get me through with the W. Good game Coach Hippo.

    Minnesota Notables
    QB MarQueis Gray - 16/30 passing, 169 yards, 0 TD/0 Int
RB DeLeon Eskridge - 16 rushes, 90 yards, 1 TD

    South Florida Notables

Good write up. I'm glad to see that I had most of the game details right. When I sit down to write my summaries I'm like..."was I at my 35 yard line? or the opponents 10 yard line?...hmmmm can't remember...". I'm kind of in a daze during the game and it's hard to remember details afterwards.

Said it 10 times already, but hell of a game. Hopefully I'll get your team at Minnesota next year for round 2.

I took control early with this matchup with 7-1 Rutgers. Running lanes were available all day as 2 different running backs tallied up 100+ yards. BJ Daniels also have a very efficient day throwing the ball, going 18-25 with 209 yards and 2 TD's. The loss puts Rutgers behind the South Florida Bulls in conference play, while the Bulls keep their hopes alive for winning the Big East. Gotta stay focused with a matchup with Syracuse next week.

Another good game from South Florida keeps them in the hunt for the Big East Championship. This game was close at half with USF leading 10-0. BJ Daniels had a good game throwing the ball going 14-20 with 228 yds, 1 TD/1 INT.

Good game Coach bondzai, hang in there, I feel things will turn around for the Orangemen soon.

The game started with Cincinnati driving down the field in :59 seconds and putting up a quick 7 points. But after that it was all South Florida as the very next kickoff was returned 97 yards for a score. 3 interceptions in the 1st half helped fuel the Bulls as the route was on by halftime. Easing off the gas in the 2nd half, USF cruised to the 41-7 victory, despite the anemic offensive numbers. Coach Scarecrow now has the inside track to the Big East Conference Championship.

A sloppy final game for the Bulls as they slip by the Huskies 21-9. A 88 yard interception return put South Florida safely ahead late in the 3rd quarter. BJ Daniels had a game to forget as he threw 4 INT's, 2 of which were deep in UConn territory. The bright spot for the Bulls was Mike Ford rushing for 170 yards on 33 carries with 2 TD's. Coach Scarecrow has a big task ahead as he needs to refocus his troops going into the bowl season.
