Salt Lake, UT (AP) -- The #1 Utes started their title defense off with a bang vs. the #20 Tennessee Vols. Utah ripped off 17 straight points before UT-lite was able to answer with a FG. Both teams were running the ball effectively, but Utah was able to connect on a few deep balls and were helped out by a pick 6 from the defense.

Tenn scored again in the 3rd quarter, but Utah was able to answer back less than 1:00 later with a 51yd TD bomb. Utah would tack on 10 more in the 4th to put this one away for a final score of 34-10.

The Utes rushed for only 106 yards as a team against a stingy UT front, but Morvin Robbins bailed out the running game with his arm. Robbins finished 13/17 211yd 3TD 1INT. Tenn had a few chances to get back in the game, but the Utah defense was suffocating. They forced 3 turnovers and held the Vols to 201yd of total offense. Coach Max was happy to come away with the W in this one.

Looking forward, Utah has a wicked schedule this season, but this is an excellent start for them. Next week doesnt get any easier as The Tribe heads up to the Big House.

GG BDSDIGITAL It looked like I hopped out early and the momentum just took over.

I really like how this one looks. ^ Pump-fake on the post, hit the corner route over the shoulder. que bonita

Yeah gg. You have the throw deep and run underneath it play down. It seemed like anytime you needed a big play you could turn to that.
