UTEP Miner Preseason Forecast: Cloudy with a chance of Conference Championship

The Miner's ended the 2010 season on a roll and hope to keep that momentum going. UTEP graduated 22 seniors but brought in roughly 30 youngsters to rebuild a program that has been in the shadows of in-state-big-brothers Texas, Houston, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M for quite some time. The Miner's will count on team play, rather then star players to bring them to a Conference Championship where they believe they belong. But its no easy road. UTEP's 2011 schedule is grueling and looks like this...

    Penn State
    @ Texas
    Houston (C-USA Rival)
    UCF
    @ ECU
    @ Tulan
    @ Maryland
    @ Rice
    Tulsa
    Southern Miss
    @ SMU (C-USA Rival)

***Actually, when one looks at the schedule, a solid argument could be made that UTEP needs a new A.D.***

Anything other then a birth in the C-USA Championship will be seen as a step back for a program that is on the rise and looking to make waves in the national scene.
