Race 1 venue has been announced.

Settings are still being worked out, but look for at least 1 pit stop and accelerated tire ware and fuel.

I will get more details posted for Race 1 as i figure them out.

    edit:

I'm not taking a Ford. I'm gonna use the #2 Toll holden.

Quick suggestion, if you are a guy that likes to drive from the cockpit take a Holden. If you like driving from outside the car take a ford. The in-cockpit view is almost impossible to use (IMO) as the mirror takes up half the screen in the Ford.

i use the cockpit... i just like the immersive feel of being in the car. Something about racing from the view of a hood ornament doesn't do it for me.

IMO it is totally personal preference....what ever you like.

I like behind the car or behind the wheel....I can't race from the hood....I cant see around my car....annoying.

So you've driven in the fords and can deal with it? If you haven't yet I'd check... It's a bitch. (For instance go to Laguna Seca dude...)

The combination of the small window for light to come in, and the huge mirror means you have glare no matter what direction you're facing on that race track. (n)

    Hahahaha... yep.

Behind the car views are ass, because what you're seeing is the ass end of the car coming out. You need to be focused only on where the front of the car is going, and "feel" the rear tires of the car, not watch the back of the car and feel the front of the car.

I can deal with the in-car view (my fave so far), hood, and front views.

I just picked up the game yesterday. Played it all last night and had a blast. I didnt play online with forza2 so i may be a little behind the curve... but Id love to sign up for this.

If no one has claimed it Ill take the Vodafone Falcon.

I usually use the cockpit or one of the other hood/bumper views, Ill have to check out the Ford's.

Do we have any rules about assists... simple ones like TCS for instance?

What about tunes, are we allowed to tune our V8 beast or is there going to be something preset? Friend is thinking about joining and wants to know.

edit: My friend Del, a guy that loves Forza, is gonna be joining. He just signed up so he can't post yet but he said he wants a Holden. Or a Ford. lol.

All I can say........."Damn this track!"

This is going to be interesting. The 2nd hump in the road could send your car 5 feet into the air......better not fall alseep! Also I imagine once these tires start to get greasy people are going to be all over the place......I had trouble running one clean lap....its a small track but tough IMO.

What types of dynamics take place over the course of the race to your car? Do these races ever require pit-stops for tires and/or fuel? Does running off the track affect your tires/grip at all? Think I'm gonna give this game a whirl this weekend.

Well if you play simulation and full damage a few things can occur.

In the start of the race, laps 1-2 (depending on the length of the lap), you tires will be cold so whipping around turns at breakneck speeds will send your car off the track....once the tires are warm they will grip better and you can increase your speed on corners.

Fuel will drain if you have a race long enough and you will need to plan your pit stop.

Running off the road in forza and hitting the walls are huge negatives your racing perfromance. Unlike GT where you can sort of bounce off cars or guard rails. When you hit something in Forza not only will your car be damaged it will also affect your car's performance, more than likely your car will be tossed around and you will most likely find yourself in last place in a blink of an eye.

Even bottomed out will damage your car.

There are portions of the track where you can cut through the off road part........what will happen in this case is that your car will hit a huge invisible force of gravity and your car will slow down to a halt until you get back on the pavement.

Yeah JMS that's the great thing about Forza is there aren't really any cheesers, except people that maybe are just there to cause accidents, drive the wrong way, use money cheats, etc... But for the most part you're not gonna go online and have something like the equivalent of being shot from underneath the map (Socom) lol.

yes, the only assists allowed are anti-lock brakes and line assists if you need them.

You can tune all you want...
