    Vandy's 2010 Season Thread!

    The 2010 Vanderbilt Commodores!!

Coming off of a 9-4 season, Vanderbilt looks to bust out onto the SEC scene in 2010. With trademark wins in 2009 over SEC heavyweights Florida and Mississippi State, Vanderbilt looks to be a contender in not only the conference, but The National Championship race as well. Finishing the season ranked #8 overall, Vandy starts the 2010 season with the #21 ranking in the country, with nowhere to move but up.

Losing a couple of Defensive play makers at both the Linebacker and the Cornerback position, Vandy finished in the top 25 recruiting classes last year, and have a variety of fresh DBs coming into camp.

On another bright note, after red-shirting a group of new recruits last year, it looks like there will be 3 running backs competing for starting positions for 2010.

    Notable returns from 2009.

    Junior QB Larry Smith

Finishing 2009 with nearly 1,000 passing yards, 1,200 rushing yards, and over 20 total TDs, Junior QB Larry Smith looks to have another great year leading the Option. With a new group of running backs, things look great for this young star.

    Sophomore Return-man/WR John Cole

One of the nations most exciting return-men, John Cole averaged 38 yards a return last year with 3 TDs, and was also a College Football Award Finalist for the Best Kick Returner. The sophomore looks to continue his speedy triumph in 2010.

    Junior SS Sean Richardson

Winning the 2009 Thorpe, and also being a finalist for Best Defensive Player of the year, Sean Richardson totaled 140 tackles, 10 sacks, and 3 interception last year, and looks to be the leader, and anchor of this young Defense.
