    Victory Road 2011 Recruiting Board

Guys, I will be creating tables to show everyones recruiting class as well as ensure that nobody is over-recruiting.

Please post the following information for your team prior to week 2:
-The number of total players on your team.
-The number of seniors you have.

I will then put together a table for every team, and will note the number of available scholarships you have.

For example - LSU has 70 players and 15 seniors, therefore I have 15 available scholarships.

    LSU Tigers
    15 available scholarships - 70 players, 15 seniors

Just curious, I was out of town during preseason. Aside from position changes, and redshirts - did missing setting up the preseason recruiting board hurt me? I was surprised after a 10 win season to still have absolutely no interest from anyone above 3 stars.

Anyway, got two three stars to commit in week one...woohoo!

    Texas Recruits

    Week 1

    6'1" 215 LBs #2 HB #4 OVR
    :5stars: Mission Viejo, CA
    Troy McNeal: A SPD, B+ ACC, C+ BTK, B ELU, B STF

--McNeal is the back of the future as he will have to sit behind the three backs ahead of him on the depth chart.

    6'1" 200 LBs #4 ATH #11 OVR
    :5stars: Redmond, OR
    Josh Williams: C SPD, B- HPW, B- PBK, B RBK, C+ TKL

--Texas continues to branch out beyond its borders as we hope that Williams can convert over to fullback and fill our need there.

    6'5" 292 LBs #2 C #17 OVR
    :5stars: Belton, TX
    Justin Watson: B ACC, B- PBK, B- RBK, B- IBL, C+ STR

--Watson will provide more depth along the line and with his quickness being much better than his strength may move to tackle.

    6'0" 224 LBs #1 OLB #37 OVR
    :4stars: Huntsville, TX
    Josh Higdon: B SPD, B+ ACC, B TKL, C+ BSH, B- STR

--Josh will have a chance to see the field as two of our top three linebackers will graduate and years end.

    6'1" 206 LBs #4 FS #67 OVR
    :4stars: Dumas, TX
    Andy Jones: B+ SPD, B+ ACC, B- TKL, B ZCV, B- HPW

--Jones will fit in well with what we expect from our free safety's. He's quick, can tackle, and drop into zone.

    6'1" 182 LBs #11 WR #83 OVR
    :4stars: Universal City, TX
    Bobby Smith: B+ SPD, C- CTH, C- RTE, C+ CIT, C+ RLS

--Probably shouldn't have signed this kid. All our wide receivers are young and talented so we will likely sit for a few years.

    6'0" 190 LBs #7 CB #165 OVR
    :4stars: Belton, TX
    Cornelius Adams: B+ SPD, A- ACC, B MCV, B- ZCV, B- PRS

--Adams has good size, athletic ability and technique. This combination should see him reach the field next season.

    Week 6

    6'3" 175 LBs #1 WR #1 OVR
    :5stars: Rosenberg, TX
    Akim Malone: A SPD, B- CTH, C- SPC, C- CIT, B- RTE

--Malone is an alright player, should see some time next season. :D

    6'0" 234 LBs #1 MLB #33 OVR
    :4stars: Pampa, TX
    Josh Bennet: B SPD, B STR, C+ TKL, B HPW, C+ BSH

--Bennett is a real solid pick up for us, although only the second best MLB in our mind. Almost all our linebackers see time at Texas so Bennett will need to produce early.

    Week 7

    6'5" 195 LBs #1 SS #36 OVR
    :4stars: Rome, GA
    Mike Thompson: B= SPD, B= ACC, B= TKL, B- ACV, B- BSH

--Great all around safety and a huge get for us. Thompson will be a big help in stopping the run from the safety position.

    6'4" 225 LBs #2 OLB #51 OVR
    :4stars: Euless, TX
    Josh Alford: B- SPD, B+ ACC, B TKL, B- BSH, B- STR

--Alford is a solid linebacker who will probably be moved to middle with his strength and size advantage over our other backers.

    6'1" 289 LBs #10 DT #100 OVR
    :4stars: Texas City, TX
    Robert Spicer: C+ ACC, B STR, B PMV, B- BSH, C PUR

--Spicer will anchor the middle of our line for a few years with his great strength and power move.

It shouldn't have affected you, the preseason is kind of superfluous to be honest, outside of schedules. You don't get any bump in week 1 for putting a guy on your board in preseason, and any guys you wanted to redshirt can still do so just by making sure they aren't on your depth chart anywhere.

Also, it may take 1 more year to see improved interest from recruits. I went 13-1 and won the sec with miss st in the deuce and had zero improvement on the recruiting front in year 2. After another good year in season 2, by season 3 I had way more 5 and 4 stars interested in my school.

True, even though they're just kids, they know that every squirrel gets a nut every once in a while and it takes them a little bit to buy into a program.

    6'2" 180lbs #13 CB #233 OVR
    :4stars:

Atari Ferguson: B- MCV, B- ZCV, B+ SPD, PRC

    - The coaches are excited about Atari. He may not be a top level recruit or come from a football hotbed, but UMD desperately needed a CB in next years class because they lose almost all of their secondary. While this signing doesnt end their DB recruitments, Atari has a great chance to start from day 1.
