    Guys,

I bought a PVR to record my user games next year. This is the first capture I did (practice mode). I need to crank up the quality next time, but it's still fun.

Out of curiosity. How much does one of these cost these days?

I was thinking of getting the internal card huappage, almost bought from amazon the other day. How much of a pain is it to get it set up to record? I am admittedly a lazy guy at times, and if I have to go through a lengthy setup process each time I want to record, I realize it would start not being recorded once the newness factor wore off...

I just don't understand why they haven't come out with an external recorder that accepts HDMI. Just doesn't make any sense to me.

The Colossus HD PVR would work great for me except that my HTPC and Xbox are on opposite ends of the house.

I might look into getting one of these once I get a real job and have some extra money laying around lol. I've been wanting one for a while. Looks good though, I'm looking forward to having some Deuce games streamed next year.

I don't have a desktop anymore so I had to buy the external until I build my next HTPC.

The lack of HDMI pass through is irritating, as is not being able to record in 1080p

You don't see it much because you need a really good computer to do it well and the file sizes would be very large.

I probably have three computers in my house that could do bit for bit recording in full digital audio. I can't remember the rate I peaked at on my desktop. It was a crazy amount /sec.

Honestly, the difference between 720p and 1080p means nothing. Because in order to manage the file size and have it playback normally you are going to have to compress it somehow for others to view.

I just would like 1080p with HDMI passthrough because 1) I have the hardware to do it and 2) I'm a AV nerd.

I'll probably end up with the 1212 that Shaun has. Still not sure why, I don't enjoy watching myself get my ass kicked the first time. It would suck having to relive OM's option attack over and over again (in high def).
