It was another odd week of play from the Tennessee offense that failed to get started until the second half. Starting quarterback Tyler Bray went down early with an injury but backup Justin Worley came up strong when they needed it.

Tennessee could not avoid the very physical and aggressive Tulsa defense in the first half and only assembled 100 yards of offense while losing star receiver Da'Rick Rogers to an injury as well. Tied 3-3 at half the Volunteers came out for the next half with a different mindset.

The game began to open up as Worley found Tight end Mychal Rivera on several occasions including a 27 yard touchdown to start the fourth quarter that put the game out of reach. Marlin Lane also put together his usual 145 yard performance on 22 carries and tacked on the final score of the game on a 55 yard touchdown run.

Next week Tennessee will take on Missouri in national championship implications and ESPN Gameday will be on campus as well. The volunteers have been tested the past few weeks and it will be interesting to see if that wore them down too much or woke them up for the big test.

    Tennessee Stats:

    Justin Worley- 14/17 218YDS TD
    Marlin Lane- 22CAR 145YDS 2TD
    Justin Hunter- 10REC 121YDS
    Mychal Rivera- 4REC 85YDS TD 10Pancakes
