What rule should we have for defensive custom playbooks?

  1. Player must choose a base set (4-3, 3-4, 4-2-5 or 3-3-5). Cannot mix in other base sets.

  2. Player must choose a base set (4-3, 3-4, 4-2-5 or 3-3-5) and can add 2 base formations.

    45.5%
  3. Free for all - Players can have whatever sets they want.

  4. Defensive custom playbooks not allowed.

I vote for none of these.

    4-3 can add 4-2-5 / 4-1-6 (if included)

    3-4 can add 3-3-5

Pick option 2, if it wins will nail down the exact rule later. I was limited by how many characters I could use for each poll option.

I chose Option 1. I prefer having each User to have a defined defensive scheme.

So many real life teams are running hybrid type defenses where they mix 3 and 4 lineman and even 5 man fronts, often using a big LB as a DE or as an OLB in different looks. Think DeMarcus Ware for the cowboys, sometimes he stands up, other times he goes to a 3 pt stance...... anyways, I trust the guys here so I would typically vote for free for all knowing any books people ran would have a specific scheme or theme (that they would post for all of us to see). Since people are apparently skittish I went ahead and voted for no more that 2 base sets, I imagine in most cases you wouldn't need more than 2 other base sets to run your scheme in any case.

Based on the other thread, we won't be using custom defensive playbooks this year. Moving on....
