Built up as a matchup between the past 2 AFC Champions, it was Buffalo who came away victorious this time around. The game started off uneventful, with the Bills leading 7-0 entering the 2-minute warning of the first half. But that's where things went wrong for the Jets. After getting the ball on their own 4, New York would try to mount a drive to level the score before the half. But with 1:10 remaining, Terrence McGee picked off QB Hardin for the pick 6 and a 14-0 lead. Then less than 20 seconds later, the Bills forced a fumble and DE Mark Anderson took the recovery to the house, upping the score to 21-0. The Jets tried again to score, but another interception led to a Bills field goal as time expired in the first half, putting Buffalo up 24-0. With a C.J. Spiller rushing touchdown in the 3rd quarter, a 31-0 lead practically clinched Buffalo the win. The Jets would score a touchdown with just under 2 minutes left in the game, but the damage had already been done as the game ended 31-7. Mario Williams was the primetime performer, contributing 5 of the 7 team sacks on Hardin. The Jets will surely be looking for revenge later in the year, but the Bills will look to use this win as a stepping stone to a great season.
