Vikings Stay Hot; Beat Detroit to Win 8th Straight

Minneapolis, MN - The Vikings & Lions would meet for the second time this year, both moving in different directions as we begin the 2nd half of this 2020 season. The Vikings come in looking for their 8th straight win, trying to keep pace with the 7-1 Packers.

Both teams would punt on their first drives. The Vikings would move the ball with ease on drive #2, but a goal line stand by the Detroit D would force them to take 3. A 3rd & 10 on the Lions next drive, two Viking safeties would run into each other, allowing the Detroit WR to catch the pass and take it 80 yds for 6! Minnesota would answer right back with a 39-yd TD run by Jarrad Savoie, which included a broken tackle in the backfield. The Lions would march back down the field late in the 2nd half, but TE Ebron would catch a 1st down pass in the Vikings red zone and fumble the ball after a big hit by safety Keshawn Kerr. The Vikings would look to score again before half. This time, Foles would be picked off in the end zone as time expired in the half - but the LB was eventually chased down by a Viking WR. Score at half: 10-7 in favor of Minny.

The 2nd half would be dominated by the Viking defense. Meanwhile, The Vikings offense continued to move the ball well. Scores by FB Jerome Felton in the 3rd, and Foles to Edwards in the 4th rounded out the scoring for the game. Final score: Vikings 24, Lion 7.
