The Steelers took a trip about 3 hours north to face the Buffalo Bills in a week 14 match-up. Pittsburgh with a playoff spot clinched is still battling the Texans for a #1 or #2 seed while the Bills are battling two other AFC East teams for the Division, Wild Card spot or a spot on the couch in a few weeks. Pittsburgh came out in the game with both arms swinging and put up 7 points early on and had several opportunities to tack on more. Buffalo was lucky to not be facing a 21 point deficit. Early in the 2nd quarter, Pittsburgh had a 10 point lead and were destined for more when the tide turned. Steeler QB Zane Gray overthrew WR DaVonte Belton and it was intercepted by SS Aaron Williams. Buffalo made quick work with the field position and the drive was capped off with a Ka'Deem Carey short touchdown run to trail 10-7 at the 2:00 minute warning. On the next Pittsburgh possession, Gray's misfortunes continued when CB Kahlil Lattimore jumped an out route and returned this interception all the way back for Buffalo to take a 14-10 lead.

Midway through the 3rd quarter, Gray threw his 3rd interception off a play action to Belton, this time it was picked off by CB Nickell Robey but nothing came of it as the Steeler defense did it's part in this game by standing strong against Buffalo's several opportunities off turnovers. Going into the 4th and final quarter, Buffalo led 17-10 but Pittsburgh had built some momentum with the ground game and RB Marcell Tillman. Gray connected on two huge 3rd down conversions to Tillman and Belton to move into the redzone just over the 8:00 minute mark of the quarter and on a 3rd and goal pass, Gray connected with TE Jace Amaro to knot things up at 17. Buffalo's offense sputtered big time on the next possession and Pittsburgh was back to work with a little over 5 minutes remaining in the game.

Gray and Tillman tore apart Buffalo's defense for the 2nd consecutive drive and Buffalo's hopes ticked away. However, the Bills defense forced a field goal and gave QB Drew Hale one last shot with 1:52 remaining. Hale doesn't put up flashy numbers but the 3rd year QB threw a deep comeback to WR Javian Jamison who made two poorly angled Steeler defenders miss and off to the races Jamison went to give Buffalo a 24-20 lead off the 62 yard touchdown. Buffalo's defensive line was just too much for Pittsburgh's final 4 plays. Zane Gray was sacked twice and knocked down the other 2 plays as the Steelers fall on the road 24-20.
