BETTER LUCKY THAN GOOD USC EEKS OUT ONE IN SALT LAKE CITY
TJ Bryant celebrates after breaking up Utah's 4th down attempt to help seal the deal
It was ugly for the Trojans for 2 1/2 quarters. They were down 17-0 after Matt Barkley delivered a present to the Utes which resulted in a pick six. Coach Sdid just shook his head in disgust and said "You got us into this trouble and you better get our *** out!" Barkley responded by leading the Trojans on a 21-3 run to end the game and sneak out with a big conference victory. Barkley hooked up with Brice Butler twice for TD's and Marc Tyler was able to get one in from the inch line after a Barkley to Butler 26 yard strike. USC was down to its last chance . They were in a hole and it was 3rd and 12 late in the 4th quarter. Barkley saw that he was gonna have 1 on 1 coverage as the safeties crept down closer to the box. Butler tapped his helmet and Barkley took the 5 step drop and let it go, Butler beat his defender and was able to shake off a last ditch tackle attempt and scored the tying touchdown. The PAT was good and the Trojans were up 1, but Utah had plenty of time and 3 time outs. USC was able to bat down 2 consecutive passes on 3rd and 4th down and the USC running game sealed it with two first downs.
Coach Sdid: "We could easily be 0-2 but these kids have a lot of heart. I have been out coached in both games so I owe it to these guys to put them in better situations. Utah will win a ton of games with that coach on the sidelines. This has all the makings of a Pac 12 rivalry."
Great game radio you will have a lot of success man.

Unfriendly Confines Minnesota fans are still feeling the pains of a 42-28 loss in Minneapolis.
After two good performances, the Golden Gophers shit their pants today against the New Mexico State Aggies. Allowing big plays time and time again, this one was ugly. Our offense played pretty good but the defense just couldn't defend the pass or run for that matter. Marquise Gray threw for 187 yards and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions which shows improvement. Duane Bennett got it going on the ground as he rushed for over 100 times for the first time this season. Da Jon McKnight and Eric Lair continue to be the go to guys for Gray as they combined for 154 yards and 2 touchdowns. New Mexico State was just too much as they gained over 551 yards total offense and 363 through the air. The Gophers travel next week to play Miami of Ohio.
DEFENSE NOT NEEDED OHIO STATE 45 TOLEDO 31
The Buckeyes moved to 2-0 today in Toledo, Ohio. However, there was no celebration in the locker room. The Buckeyes defense looked lost all game, and their confidence without a doubt took a hit after their performance this Saturday afternoon against a Mid-American Conference team on the road. Coach Fickell after the game:"We are embarassed with our performance. I know we won, but we didn't win the way we expected to. Our defense did not show up, they are still in Colombus somewhere. Luckily, our kids on offense did show up so we were able to squeak this one out. We have a LOT of things we need to fix before Big 10 play begins. If we don't make corrections, we are going to be a doormat."

The #4 Stanford Cardinals came to the Big House expecting to keep their winning ways as of late. With Heisman Hopeful QB Andrew Luck, the Cardinals had no reason to doubt. A stellar defensive performance by the Wolverines would negate any momentum Stanford got throughout the game. Forcing three early turnovers, the Michigan defense capitalized on one of them after Luck was sacked and fumbled the ball in the Endzone. LE Craig Roh would pounce on the ball to put the Wolverines up 7-0. They wouldn't look back from there making the score 17-0 by halftime. Stanford would score a touchdown late, but it wasn't enough as Michigan would win 20-7. GG Redwings.

SEATTLE, WA -
The Huskies opened strong in 2011 with a win on the road against the then top 25 Nebraska Cornhuskers. In week 2, they had a bye which gave them time to prepare for their newest challenge - The Purdue Boilermakers.
This one turned into a defensive battle as both teams struggled offensively. For Purdue, their rushing attack was stopped early and often against the Huskies front line. Starting running back Ralph Bolden was held to a meager 28 yards on 11 carries throughout the game with 1 TD. This stout run D forced the Boilermakers into a pass first attack. This approach proved to be just as challenging. Purdue QB Robert Marve finished the game 18 for 40 with 239 yards and 6 interceptions. The lone bright spot in the passing offense was a long 74 yard TD connection to OJ Ross.
The Huskies didn't find much success offensively either. Although their offense is most often involving a run strategy, Sophomore QB Keith Price did connect on a long 45 yard TD lob to star senior WR Jermaine Kearse. Husky workhorse Chris Polk found plenty of opportunities rushing the ball in this one as he amassed 146 yards on 26 attempts with 1 TD.
The Huskies look to get a more balanced offense rolling next week as they take on the tough Sun Devils of Arizona State.

USC played better in this one. However, Coach Sdid is far from pleased with mistakes. Dropped passes, dropped interceptions, blown coverages are plaguing the Trojans in 2011. However, the Trojans are 3-0 and have to move forward. USC got great production out of the Ty-Bax combo. The two combined for 3 TD's (baxter 2) and over 160 yards (Tyler 109). USC got Rhett Ellison their softhanded Tight End who caught 4or 5 balls for over 100 yards and a score off a well set up Play action pass that caught the Syracuse safeties backfield watching as Ellison ran the seam. Matt Barkley threw 3 TD's and 2 INT's in this one. He also connected with Prater and Woods on long pass plays for six. The defense registered their first interception of the season late in the fourth quarter after several opportunities. The USC defense was lead by Armstead who recorded 3 sacks.
Coach Sdid: "I never felt like we were going to lose, but it was too close for comfort. We have got to take advantage of opportunities in the return game, the turnover margin, and executing a simple pass and catch."
