Vandals open up the 2013 season with a road loss to in state rival Boise State 45-31.

    Coach Sabo's Post Game Comments
"We played a great game out there today. Although we came up a little short we still have found the points of our game that we need to work on. I feel that few minor mistakes cost us the game but we wont look to the negative. We plan on having a great year and building from this tough loss."

Next week the Vandals welcome Central Michigan to town

The San Jose State Spartans lost their season opener to the Florida Gators 39-19. The Spartans kept up with Florida until the final two minutes of the first half. Florida racked up 19 points and never looked back. SJSU QB Dasmen Stewart's first pass of the season was a pick six. Stewart threw 2 touchdowns and 4 int's against a stingy Florida defense. The Spartans will look to rebound against Cal this week, and hopefully they can get their first win of the season.

    Week 5
The University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners
will square off vs The New Mexico State Aggies. Coach ChaoticUT will have to go on the road to open conference play against another great coach maij17. Both teams are 1-4 and preaching to their players that they are better than their record shows, and that there is still enough time left in the season to get their ship's righted. The Roadrunners are coming off a huge win last week vs Fresno State and will look to keep building off of that as they head into this very important showdown. Jr QB Eric Soza threw for over 300 yards vs The Bulldogs in week 4, and 3 touchdown passes to lead his team to their first win of the season. It was by far his best game this season. The Roadrunners will need similar efforts out of Soza going forward this year. The Aggies will have to rebound after last weeks crushing loss to their
in-state rivals The New Mexico Lobos. One bright spot of the game was the play of So. Qb Travaughn Colwell as he passed his way through a 500+ yards and three Td performance. Coach Maij will have to rally his troops and prepare them for a showdown in the wild, wild west. Both coaches know that they will need solid mistake free performances from their Qb's too go with a well balanced ground game.

Predictions: The team with the most touchdowns after time expires in the fourth quarter will win the game, I guarantee it. (y)

    Great work JVrazorback!!

This one should be a shoot out. Combined both teams are giving up an average of 35 points a game and scoring 30. I expect lots of scoring in this one!

The Air Raid offense is alive and well in Las Cruces, New Mexico State is striving along at 3-5 but had a signature W against Utah State, the Aggies will go as far as QB Travaughn Colwell arm can take them, NMSU leads the FBS in passing and are only getting better as Coach Maij's system is catching on.
    2nd Half Outlook
    [IMG]
NMSU notched a dominant win against defending WAC champion Louisiana Tech, and would need to win 2 of 3 to become bowl eligible for the first time in 52 years, as well as with some help their first WAC conference championship.
Coach Maij on the Aggies first half performance:
" We surpassed last year's win total, now we look to the conference championship with the gauntlet that is our remaining schedule."

Surprising few with these results after hiring Coach Zach Summers (yea I went government name), the Roadrunners sit atop the conference in prime position to win thier first WAC Championship. UTSA has a beast of a running game proving that the Pistol offense is still viable in college football. QB Eric Soza and HB Evans Okotcha account for 1100 rushing yards , the Roadrunners look dialed in as they have a two game lead in the conference standings, holding tiebreakers over NMSU and SJSU.
    2nd Half Outlook
    [IMG]
The second half is very simple for UTSA, 3 wins = WAC Championship and Bowl Berth

"We've had our ups and downs, but that is what football is all about, responding to adversity. We lost some key players but all that does is give other kids an opportunity to step up and play. We have won some close ones and lost some big games, but we don't measure our program by wins and loses. We want to come out, work hard, and improve every day; in all facets of the game. If we do that the wins will take care of themselves." -- Coach Summers at the mid-season press conference
