The Cleveland Cavaliers are off to their best start since the LeBron James era, opening the 2013-14 season with an impressive 6-2 record. Though the Cavs have largely feasted on the bottom dwellers of the NBA thus far, wins over playoff contending Houston and Washington have given the city of Cleveland confidence that this year the Wine and Gold will be playing meaningful summer basketball.

Kyrie Irving has lead the team, to little surprise, but it has been nonetheless shocking how dominant he's been in the infancy of this NBA season. The third-year guard is averaging 30.8 points and 6.5 assists per game, though coach Mike Brown would like to see him get his assist up a little more and move his turnovers down. Kyrie has been supported by Dion Waiters, who looks capable of playing the Robin role to Kyrie's Batman as he is averaging 16.5 ppg and 5.3 apg.

The Cavs front court rotation has been an all-around success, with Andrew Bynum, Anderson Varejao, Tristan Thompson and first overall pick Anthony Bennett all thriving while sharing minutes. Each big brings something different, and the limited minutes should help Bynum and Varejao avoid injury. With that being said, expect to see Bynum's role expand, as the former all star has been dominant in the post. It's not farfetched to think the troubled yet talented center could find his way into the starting lineup as we move forward this year.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks have agreed on a trade, and are now waiting on David's Sterns signature to push it through. The agreed upon deal would bring Vince Carter to Cleveland, while the Mavs would receive C.J. Miles and a 2014 first round pick in return. Carter, a 36-year old veteran is still chasing his first ring, and while the Cavs might not be a front runner to reach the NBA Finals, they certainly have a better outlook than rebuilding Dallas.
