Wake Forest 2011 Preview Wake Forest Demon Deacons 2011 Preview The Demon Deacons look to improve on their 5-7 record from last season. After a long QB battle between Skylar Jones, Ted Stachitas, and Brendan Cross, Coach Worgum has named Skylar Jones as the starting QB for the Deacons. Jones is being mentioned as a possible player of the year in the ACC, and if the Deacons are to have success Jones will be an important ingredient this season. Jones started ten games last season and threw for over 2600 yards. The weapons Jones will rely on include returning starting RB Brandon Pendergrass, WR Chris Givens, and TEs Cameron Ford, and Andrew Parker. Coach Worgum expects big things from both Ford and Parker in the receiving department. On defense the Deacons will be led by DEs Kyle Wilber and Tristan Dorty. The starting linebackers areMLB Scott Betros, while outside backers are Joey Ehrmann, and Kyle Jarret. In the secondary, everything begins with CB Kenny Okoro. Last season he led the team in interceptions. Coach Worgum's goal this year is to make a bowl game. However, the schedule makers did not do the Deacons with them opening with #3 UW Huskies, and #6 Ole Miss Rebels. Then open up ACC Conference play with Maryland, Clemson and FSU. Things can be very bumpy for Deacons, but this team is capable of winning these games, and will.
