War Eagle 2010 Season Of Change

AP June 25th 2010 The University of Auburn has called a news conference for 2:30 PM EST today to announce that they are going to release 2nd year coach Gene Chizick for reasons not yet explained. Rumor has it that they plan on making a quick change and a new regime will be coaching on the Plains this fall. Speculation has it that Auburn AD Jay Jacobs has contacted Lou Holtz, Phil Fullmer, Tony Dungy and Steve Spurier to name a few. Our sources here in Auburn have said they have seen Jay Gruden house hunting on Grand National Golf Course. We shall keep you updated on the situation.

AP June 25th 2010 To the surprise of many the University of Auburn has just announced the hiring of Head Football Coach MC York. He is a name that nobody was talking about after the sudden firing of former coach Gene Chizick. Coach York was last seen on the sidelines of The University of Colorado were he lead the Buffs to two straight bowl games. He spent 4 years at the University of Houston as the Cougars coach and went to bowl games each of those years. The new head coach had this to say "Auburn is a great program with a storied history and a rabid fan base. I know expectations are high. Coach Chizick has this team ready to compete in 2010. The cupboard is not bare we have some talent at the skills position with a lot of young guys coming in that want to compete right away. I look forward to competing in the SEC not only in the West but for the SEC championship also." The jury is out on this hiring he has a smash mouth style on offense and his defense was a 3-4 but with the LB corps that Auburn has this year it might not be used until a couple of recruiting classes come in. Coach York is a very talented recruiter and has already reached out to a couple of instate HS coaches to ensure that he wants to keep the top talent at home.
