    Week 1: Auburn Wins 24-10

A new year, new beginning, and a new offense leads to a 24-10 win over Virginia. A defensive game throughout, after an early field goal the Auburn defense struck first with a 98 yard interception retuned for a score. The score was 10-0 at the half, and a 35 yd FG by the Cavaliers made it 10-3 after three. In the 4th, the Tigers proved to be too strong, when Auburn decided to fake a field goal and converted for a score to make it 17-3. After another Cavalier turnover, on 3rd down QB Cam Newton hooked up with WR Travante Stallworth to ice it. The Cavaliers did score as time expired to make it 24-10.

    The Good, Bad, & Ugly

The Good: The Defense forces 3 turnovers (2 Fumbles, 1 INT); Offense moved the ball efficiently and dominated T.O.P. 21:31-10:29.

The Bad: O-Line gave up 5 sacks, stalling a couple of potential scoring drives.

The Ugly: The Tiger D gives 349 yards passing and only 1 sack

Week 2: Bulldogs Bark But Don't Bite, Tigers Win 41-27

Week two had the same result as week one as the Tigers win by two scores again, this time 41-27. QB Cam Newton was the man yet again throwing for 361 yards and 5 TDs. Spreading the ball around, Newton hooked up with 8 different receivers, 7 who had at least two catches..On the flip side, the Tiger run game was horrendous getting only 2 yards rushing on 28 carries The Tiger D played Rubberband D yet again which almost cost the game. The Tigers gave up 418 yards passing and 4 TDs. Luckily that wasn't enough.

The Good, Bad, & The Ugly

The Good: QB Cam Newton. 23-32, 361 yards passing, 5 TDs. Receiving Corps: only one drop. Defense forced 3 Turnovers (2 INT, 1 FUM). Offense 0 Turnovers

The Bad: The Tiger Ground game. 28 combined carries, TWO yards rushing. UNACCEPTABLE. O-Line 3 sacks given up.

The Ugly: Auburn Secondary. 418 yards passing, 4 TDs. Two weeks in almost 800 yards passing.

    Next Up: Florida

    Week 7 Auburn Survives 35-29

Auburn barely held on for the win 35-29 in Hog country. Once again Cam Newton does it again with another 300 yard performance, throwing for 351 yard and 2 TDs. He also ran for a TD. Helping him out was the O-Line which kept him upright with no sacks. The defense faltered again, this time it was the run D who gave up 224 yards rushing.

    What Auburn Learned

    1. Cam Newton is legit.
Another 300 yard game should put him on the Nat'l radar.
    2. Auburn's D could cost them a game.
Eventually bend-dont break defenses DO break. Will the Tiger D be able to win a game if needed?
    3. What problem will arise next?
The O-line finally protected Cam, but the D-line parted the Red Sea.
    4. Will the Tiger D ever show up this year?
If the Tigers want a BCS Bowl win, the Tiger D will have to do their part.
