Week 1: Cards 52, Seahawks 7 Coach Bates told his team he not only wanted to win this game, he wanted to send a statement out to the league: Fear the Cardinals. Statement heard loud and clear. The Cards imposed their will on the Seahawks all game long. This offseason the Seahawks drafted the top QB in the draft, Ace Garrison, and gave his the starting job. The desert heat was too much for the rookie QB and his first pass was intercepted by Brian Okrapo and taken in for a touchdown. The rookie never recovered. Cards rookie RB Bjoern Mason had a solid debut, rushing for 100+ yards and a TD. Coach Bates is proud of his rookie but knows he can do even better. Player of the game was Kellen Winslow who took advantage of LBs focusing on stopping the run, leaving him open on several occasions. GG Seahawks, I applaud and thank you for hanging in there. I have 1 suggestion for you: Get yourself a new kick returner. His carry rating can't be good if Neil Rackers forced a fumble on him.
