    Week 1: Cowboys(24) vs Wagonburners(21)

    Cowboys Pull Dramatic OT Finish
Any question marks about David Buehler taking over FG duties for the Cowboys were answered this weekend, as the young kickoff specialist drilled a game winning FG in overtime. Still there were some questions left on the field in Landover, Maryland such as the Cowboys aging offensive line allowing pressure on Romo all day, Romo's knack for throwing INT's in the redzone, and injuries.

The game started out with Felix Jones showing off his amazing speed as he took the opening kickoff 88yards to the house. Washington looked to be in trouble as they would be forced to punt but Romo would throw an interception on the insuing drive. The Redskins would capitalize driving down the field connecting on a 21yard pass from McNabb to Cooley, sure to be a deadly combo this year. Then the Redskins defense tightened up shutting Dallas down for the next two quarters as McNabb and Co. would connect on two more TD's increasing the Redskins lead 21-7 with 5:22 left in the third quarter. Dallas would finally put a worthy drive together making it deep into enemy territory only to have Romo throw a pick in the endzone. Things were not looking good for the Cowboys as McNabb began to orchestrate another long drive that looked to put a comeback out of reach but Terrence Newman would come up with a huge redzone INT sparking a Cowboys comeback. After a long drive and a Romo to Witten TD the Dallas defense came out and smoothered the Redskins offense forcing a punt. The Cowboys marched back down the field scoring with :33 seconds left to make it 21-21. The Redskins would win the toss but failed to move the ball effectively and were forced to punt. Dallas got the ball in good field position and moved the ball deep into FG range but Romo would take a huge sack on 3rd down pushing them out of Buehler's comfort zone (his longest kick in college was 48yards). Coach Waj decided to take a chance on his young kicker and try the long FG, and did it ever pay off. "This team, they don't ever quit. I think we knew that coming into this year, no matter what the score is we are going to give it everything. There are plenty of areas that we could have done better and we will continue to work. Dez(Bryant) did a good job but I think he can do better. Losing Major Wright for 12 weeks hurt us as he was emerging as an excellent special teams player." Coach Wajomatik said at the post game press conference.

LOL stang. I was real nervous about kicking it but went ahead and tried. It also helped that there was zero lag.
