The first game of their respected seasons, the Falcons and Redskins faced off at FedEx Field in hopes of bagging that first win. The Redskins coming into this game with a new coach and a couple of new faces on offense, and the Falcons coming into their first full year with their respected head coach and some new faces on both sides of the field. The first half started off with a bang. The offensive rookies made their debut with getting touchdowns for their ball clubs. Bensly Blake scored in the first quarter for the Falcons, as did Aaron Scott for the Redskins. The rookie tight end taken in the 2nd round by the Falcons made his way to the endzone in the 2nd quarter, making the halftime score 24-17 'Skins. The 2nd half was all Falcons, outscoring the Redskins 24-3. Both teams had trouble keeping the ball in their hands, with 3 interceptions for Matt Ryan, and 4 total for the Redskins. Players of the game for the Falcons were 2nd year DE Lawrence Sidbury, sacking the quarterbacks 3 times, and forcing one fumble. Also worth mentioning is rookie TE Tanner Talbert. In his first game he had 209 receiving yards, and 1 touchdown.
