    Offenses Struggle as Defenses Shine

In the season opener these two high powered offenses failed to light up the score board as the defenses swarmed both offenses. Schaub and Manning both threw 3 interceptions as wide receivers were struggling to find openings in the pass defenses. The lone bright spot in the passing game was a touchdown pass from Peyton Manning to Joseph Addai to bring the Colts within 2 with no time left on the clock. Schaub on the other hand had a couple long completions, but was unable to find the endzone.

On the ground the Colts just couldn't get a push from the line as Addai was hit for minimum gains many times. The Texans didn't fair too much better in the fist half as the Colts defense used their speed to get to Slaton in the back field. Eventually the ground game picked up for the Texans as Slaton found the endzone for their lone offensive touchdown.

In the end the Colts came one foot away from taking the game into overtime, but the Texans hung on as this defensive battle finally came to an end.

Steve Slaton: 16 att 43 yards 1 TD

GG Dave, GL the rest of the season.
