    USC 31 Hawaii 28

USC escapes Honolulu with a W. Coming into the match it was uncertain which QB would start. Eddi finally gave the nod to Redshirt Sophmore Max Wittek, who began the game by handing it off to Silas Redd who took it 76 yards for the TD. Hawaii came back and drove 71 yards to get the equalizer at 7. After his 2nd drive, Eddi took Wittek off and brought in Freshman Max Browne. Who came in firing, hitting on his first 2 attempts. It then turned ugly as he threw an Interception in the red zone. Hawaii could only muster a FG from the take away. Max then went cold missing several open receivers. Hawaii again couldn't take advantage and got a FG. At the half Hawaii held a 13-7 lead. The 2nd half began with a USC stand, giving the ball back to the offense and Max Wittek. Who threw a 42 yard TD pass to Nelson Agholor. Hawaii stalled a bit in the 3rd, giving the ball back to the Trojans. Who scored another TD late in the 3rd to bring the score to 21-13. In the 4th quarter Hawaii came out and scored a TD. Also successfully tied the game up after a 2 pt conversion. Max Browne back in the game as Wittek had been ruled out due to a concussion, missed an open Marqise Lee and threw it right at an opponent. Hawaii would then drive to score the game leading TD. Max Browned had to regain his composure and did so. Firing a 14 yard 1st down to Nelson Agholor. Silas Redd did the rest as he led the Trojans down to the end zone. Trojans tied it up at 28 with less than 2 minutes to go. The Trojans defense forced a Hawaii punt, which was returned by J Davis to Hawaii's 41. From here Redd took over, taking the ball down to field goal range. With 4 seconds left they place the ball right down the middle for Andre Heidari. Hawaii took a time out to ice the kicker, it didn't work. As Andre Heidari hit on the 29 yard FG. Hawaii had one more chance as they heaved it long, only to find a USC player who batted it down. USC held on 31-28. Here are a few words from Eddi's press conference:

"It was a tough win, knew it would be. We were starting five Freshmen in a road game. This year isn't really about winning a title as it is getting these kids experience. If we can do both then it's a win-win. Max struggled a bit, led us down to get the game winning FG. He should be better next week at home. We have 2 straight home games, these guys will gain confidence then. For now, our starting QB will be Max Browne. Want to see how the kid comes out after a win like this. Yes, ugly numbers, remember he's still a kid. As for Max Wittek, we will re-evaluate him this week and see if he's ready to play some for this upcoming game. Took a blowing hit, it stung him a bit. We will need to work on our passing game, as we head out to tougher venues than Hawaii. Silas Redd was our MVP. 31 carries for 250 yards. Unbelievable, would have been for nothing had we lost. We will also get Justin Davis more carries at home. He did an incredible job on the kick returns, set us up to win the game. Marqise Lee will also get more attempts at him, had around 10 this game, just couldn't get the ball there accurately. Our defense will get better, did an excellent job on the ground, their QB killed us in the air. We will get back to work this week, see you all next weekend."

    Texas A&M vs Rice

    NCA14PS3_20_GR_JPEG_SCREENSHOT_DuT.jpg

Texas A&M took little time getting on the board, scoring on their opening drive, then the defense took over. By half the Aggies lead 17-0 and continued to stretch the lead in the 2nd half. Final score was 37-0 as Rice couldn't do much against the Aggies. It was a good opening game for the Aggies, who now have one more game to improve before they play the current number 1 team in the country Alabama.

Taylor Bertolet was perfect on the night going 3/3 on FGs and 4/4 on XPs. Ben Malena was the Player of the Game getting 118 yards on 25 carries and 2 TDs. Johnny Manziel had a decent performance going 9/14 for 186 yards and 1 TD in the air as well chipped in for another 91 yards on 15 carries on the ground. LeKendrick Williams caught 104 yards on 2 catches and 1 TD.

Texas A&M looks to improve to 2-0 next week against Army.

Both defenses played strong in the first half with the halftime score being a 7-7 tie. Washington's TD was set up by a 65 yard Kickoff return by Smith and a 22 yard run by Sankey. Sankey finished the drive off with a one yard TD run.

Second half saw tough defense by both squads but Washington forced two interceptions in the 3rd quarter to jump out to a 17-7 lead. In 4th quarter Boise scored a TD to get game to 17-14. Following kickoff was returned 75 yards by Smith to Boise 22. The very next play, Keith Price kept the ball on the option and went 22 yards for the TD to seal the win. Highlight of this play is in the dynasty wire.

Alabama starts the season with a W after a 30-17 win over an over matched Virginia Tech team that still looks to have a promising season in the ACC. VT kept it close through the first half with the score being 10-10 after the first quarter and 13-10 in the favor of Alabama to end the half. TJ Yeldon started of the scoring with a long touchdown. VT answered back with a 46 yard field goal on their next drive. Cade Foster kicked a 38 yard field goal with under 2 minutes left in the first quarter. Logan Thomas then completed a screen pass that went 85 yards off the legs of JC Coleman to tie the score at 10 to end the first quarter. Cade Foster was responsible for the only points in the second quarter with a 32 yard field goal with 3 minutes in the half. The second half was an offensive explosion for Alabama scoring 17 points and holding VT to a single touchdown early in the fourth quarter off another pass from Logan Thomas to JC Coleman that went 67 yards. Alabama's 17 second half points consisted of a goal line score for TJ Yeldon as he found his way into the end zone behind his O-line which will be led by LT Cyrus Kouandijo and RG Anthony Steen the only returning starters on the line. Brian Vogler also added to the score with a 21 yard reception from AJ McCarron who is looking to have a promising year and maybe bring home some Heisman hardware. Cade Foster added another 3 points to make him 3/3 on FGs and 3/3 on XPs. TJ Yeldon received the offensive player of the game with 34 carries, 168 yards, and 2 TDs. John Fulton received defensive player of the game with 3 INTs, and a tackle. AJ McCarron was 10-13 with a 148 passing yards, a touchdown, and no INTs as he spread it out to six different receivers the most notable being Brian Vogler who had 3 receptions, 52 receiving yards, and a TD. Logan Thomas had a bitter-sweet day with 230 passing yards, and 3 INTs. JC Coleman had a disappointing day rushing but had a much more significant day as a receiver with 3 catches for 163 yards for VT only two TDs of the day. Cody Journell went 1/1 on FGs and 2/2 on XPs. Alabama lead VT in 1st downs, rushing yards, turnovers, and TOP. VT did lead in passing yards as it seems that will be the strength of their team this year. Alabama now has a bye week to prepare for revenge on the only blemish on their record last year, Texas A&M.

The site has just sports banners and a link to TSO.

The banners are really cool though.

The OP is poorly worded by me, that's what I get for typing and playing NCAA at the same time.

Tables on here need to use pipes. Not sure how to explain it. I never figured it out and I know I frustrated Shaun Mason a lot about it.

what did we learn in the first game of the sonny dykes era ... things will be ruff

    CAL 30 NW 20

1 tony franklin will pull a QB quickly as we saw ... RS zack kline with 2 early 1st qt INTs got the hook
2 austin hinder JR QB can get the job done
3 and probably most surprising Andy Buh's defense came to play and was the KEY in the win over NW they gave up yards and not many points but when the O needed a spark the D was there

score appeared closer than the game actually was after going up 14 pts NW lost focus and the CAL defense mauled the NW QB and RB all day ... 5 sacks and mollywhopping 16 TFL ... yes that is no typo

offensive player of the week : Austin hinder 13-18 199 2 Td 1Int and 1 rush TD
defensive player of the week : Kharii Fortt 10 solo 4 Tfl 1 sack

next up North Texas sonny and tony will have alot of flim to go over this week and fix what ever went wrong .. will hinder start ? or will zack get another chance with tosu coming to berkeley in two weeks tony needs a QB confident and ready to execute QB
