  1. Week 1, Tennessee Vols at UCF Knights

The Vols came into this game highly underestimating the Knights. They figured it'd be a quick and easy win, but it sure wasn't either.

UCF came out with a huge 69 yard pass setting up a QB Sneak by Weatherford making it a 7-0 game. Tennessee wouldn't be off the score board long. Crompton put together a very nice drive setting up an 18 yard TD pass to slot WR D. Moore, tying the game at 7.

Tennessee had trouble containing the big play, as they gave up four plays of 50+ yards. They're lucky they were able to chase down each play inside the 10 yard line each time.

UCF would answer back with another TD, this one a 2 yard TD run by RB Harvey. Tennessee added a FG to make it 10-14 at the end of the quarter.

The 2nd was rather boring. The only points that would be scored were a FG by the Vols as we went into the half, the score 13-14, UCF leading.

Tennessee locked down on defense in the 3rd quarter. They'd put up 10 points on a FG and a TD run by RB Hardesty. He'd total up 125 yards on 25 carries in this one.

The game was blown wide open when Tennessee added another 10 points to start the 4th making it 33-14 with over five minutes left. UCF would find the end zone with 4:14 on the clock, and added another late TD with a mere 14 seconds left. Tennessee recovered the onside kick and kneeled the rest out. The Vols won todays game by a score of 28-33.

Player of the game went to Vols HB Hardesty who rushed for 125 yards and 2 TD on 25 carries (5.0 AVG).

Vols QB Crompton threw for 178 yards on 17/28 throwing and 1 TD, 0 INT.

DE C. Walker played tremendous defense recording 7 tackles, 3 TFL and 3 sacks.

Tennessee heads out west to take on USC, it should be a tough challenge for the Vols.

    Crompton to Moore
