    The Texan offense accounted for 250 passing yards and 202 rushing yards en route to an opening day victory over a stingy Miami team. Matt Shaub was virtually flawless, racking up 262 yards for 3 touchdowns and a near perfect 149.9 QB rating. Arian Foster added 139 yards on the ground on 25 carries, while Ben Tate contributed 55 yards of his own and a score. Andre Johnson led all receivers with 9 catches and 2 scores.

    Meanwhile, the Texan defense did a fantastic job forcing the rookie QB Ryan Tanehill into some mistakes. Tanehill threw for 2 scores and 3 picks, as Glover Quinn Jr., Daniel Manning, and Jonathon Joseph had the interceptions. Joseph's went back for 6:
