Week 1 San Diego State 28 Ball State 17 San Diego, CA - The Aztecs bested Ball State 28-17 Saturday night in the 2010 opener for both teams. The win proves costly for San Diego State though, as they lose starting QB Ryan Lindley for atleast 4 weeks to an injury. First-year head coach mikedredd at the press conference expressed frustration at losing his team's leader, "It's definitely going to be tough going for us, Ryan has grown so much into the leadership role, its tough to see this happen to him. At the same time we have two freshman behind him and Ryne Clark is going to have to step up and do the job." Clark completed 8 of 16 for 138 yards and a score but also threw an interception. Coach expects it to be tough going next week against Army, "We'll be show up and play hard I can guarantee you that, but Army is going to come ready to rock and roll." Time will tell if the changes coach has made will change the fortunes of a program that has historically struggled.
