Stave and defense plays awful, blame resides on them for loss to Nebraska

The home crowd got under Stave's skin who was an abysmal 10-24 and 106 yards with 1 INT. Stave couldn't throw basic routes even after starting 5-5 in the first quarter, curl routes landed in the dirt, out routes land out of bounds, fly routes land out of reach of the WR and crossing patterns missed their targets by a minimum of 5 yards. The offensive line didn't help matters, although Stave was only sacked 3 times he was pressured and hit on the majority of dropbacks. Coach Cieske knew they would have trouble along the offensive line, "We have all underclassmen (Soph. or younger) starting for us, they are a great group but there are always going to be growing pains". The defense made a few big plays but gave up more then they could create, Nebraska QB Armstrong Jr. was 22 for 23 is lone incompletion came the way of an INT (User) by FS Gross and was returned for a TD. Armstrong could not be stopped through the air or on the ground, he totaled 311 yards of total offense (140 run) and 1 TD. rFR Scott Edmonds return another kick for a TD, this one for 102 Yds.

    Badgers

    Stave 10/24-106-0-1int

    Gordon 17-146-1

    Adeyanju 13 Tkl - 2 Tfl - .5 Sk

    Nebraska

    Armstrong Jr. 22/23-171-1-1

    Armstong Jr. 15-140-0
    Newby 14-106-0

    Cotton 10-113-1

On a side note, Nebraska's kicker is amazing, he hit a 50 Yd FG with 11 MPH wind in his face.

On another side note, I broke my phone so if anyone has sent me a Text since 730 cst last night I didnt get it, I just went and got a new phone.

Tough one to swallow, but still in the driver's seat for the division. Armstrong definitely made a case for the Heisman in that one
