    Week 10: Bengals(17) vs Colts(20)

This one went down to the wire.

Colts won the toss and deferred to the 2nd half. Both defenses were at their best and neither offense good manage points in the first quarter.

The Colts broke the scoring drought with an Adam Vinatieri 34-yd FG. The Bengals would answer back quickly and score the first TD of the game when Palmer hit HB Bernard Scott on a jerk-route,that he took 27yds for the score.

The Colts would get the ball back with about 1:00 remaining in the first half and manage a quick drive that ended in a Vinatieri FG attempt that would slide wide left.

The Colts came out of the halftime locker room determined to have a better half of football. On the opening drive of the 2nd half, Manning mastered a beautiful drive that culminated on an 18-yd TD scamper by HB Joseph Addai. The Bengals would again answer with a long drive of their own that was capped off by a Palmer to Kelly 17yd scoring strike.

The Bengals would swiftly tack on another 3pts on a Tiffin 21-yd FG to start the 4th period.

With a little less that 6 mins remaining in the game and down by a score of 17-10 the Colts would have to make something happen quickly.

For much of the 4th qtr. defense dominated until the teams exchanged interceptions that left Indy with great field position. Addai would take advantage and punch it in from 1-yd out with 1:50 remaining on the game clock. The score now tied 17-17 Bengals QB Carson Palmer began a march to lead his team to victory but that march was stopped quickly when Nickel CB Jacob Lacey jumped a shallow crossing route for the huge interception.

Mannin and Co. went to work around midfield with about a minute on the clock. The Colts offense managed to make to force the Bengals to use all their remaining timeouts while still moving the chains and inching closer to Vinatieri's FG range.

With the ball at the Bengals 20-yd line Coach Jeremy marched his FG unit out onto the field and Vinatieri sent the 37-yd game winning FG right down the middle.

The difference in this game was the costly Interception by Palmer late in the 4th.

    GG Dunn.
