Heisman Run. Trent Richardson is gaining more and more attention as the season nears its end. The 5' 11" Senior sat down and talked with Rolltide.com after the 42-17 victory over #22 Vandy.

Rolltide.com: Trent all we're waiting on is the Heisman Pose.
Trent: Nah, we still have alot of football left, it's still too early and there are alot of good football players out there.

Rolltide.com: The game against Vanderbilt, you finished the day with 5 receptions for 107 yards and 1 TD, and then add 2 more on the ground.
Trent: Yea, AJ found me on that screen, and there was alot of green, so I just went for it. (Trent ask Coach Designs "how long was it"?)
    Rolltide.com: It was a 50 yard reception.
Trent: (laughs) yea, I always told coach I could catch as well as run, I don't think he believed me before now.
Coach Designs: (Yelling from the other side of the room laughing) I just don't want you hurt Trent!

Rolltide.com: So you and Lacy, what was with the splitting of runs? (Lacy finished with 12/78 and 1TD while Trent finished with 19/77 and 2 TD's)
Trent: I've been kinda banged up and (Eddie) Lacy is a heck of a back. Me and him are roommates.

Rolltide.com: So now that you guys seem to be looking for the SEC West Title, what is your biggest concern?
Trent: LSU. They have a new Coach (niuhuskie224) so not sure what kind of defense we'll be looking at.

Rolltide.com: How do you respond to the Gators Coach AJH saying they would shut you down?
Trent: I'm sorry who? (laughs all around the locker room)

Rolltide.com: Any words before you leave?
    Trent: Roll Tide Roll.

So there you have it, Heisman Front Runner and Senior Captain for the Alabama Crimson Tide Trent Richardson

We've kind of backed off the statement of shutting you down because we came to the realization that you won't be in that game. We now fully expect the Tigers of LSU to be playing us in Atlanta. Under new leadership, we expect LSU to take off.. Except when they run into the Gator buzzsaw.

You can tape that in all of those kids lockers also!

It was a Jeckel and Hyde performance for QB Franklin, as he threw 3 INTs in the game against K St. But, he also threw for 433 yards and 2 TDs while running for another one. The defense had their own problems, as they gave up big plays in the passing game and kept K St in it for most of the game. But a K St fumble late in the game would be their undoing, as Mizzou needs to win out to make a Big 12 champ appearance.

    Mizzou 48 - Kansas St 30

    Florida @ Mississippi
Florida traveled up to Oxford to try to keep their undefeated season alive. What they ran into was a stubborn Ole Miss squad.
The Rebels did play some good defense in this game but it just wasn't even close enough. Lance West connected on two first half TD's and Mike Gillislee added a 1yd score to make it a 21-0 early lead for the Gators. The game was really put out of reach when star freshmen Tim Wright had a spectacular 77yd punt return for a TD. The speedster made several nifty moves and then let his sprinter speed do the rest. Ole Miss would get on the scoreboard late in the half to cut the score to 28-7 at the half.
Seemingly like every game thus far in the season, the second half would see the Gators use the ball control offense and just try to pound it at the Rebels. Ole Miss did do a good job however forcing several Gator punts. FB Larry Archie added a 2yd score and Randy Dorsey, who had already missed two FG's would finally convert on one to end the Gator scoring.
Final from Oxford, Florida 38 Ole Miss 13
Tim Wright was named player of the game only for his punt return contribution. Wright racked up 168 PR yards including that 77yd score.

Hokies eek out bounce back win against Miami

    VT 31 Miami 27

After an absolute drubbing at the hands of rival BC last week, Tech bounced back on the road to defeat the #7 team in the nation in Miami. VT has officially put an end to any hopes of a national title for the Hurricanes this season. Senior Quarterback JuJu Clayton earned his third start of the season and performed well for the majority of the game before leaving with an injury. The injury will end his Tech career as he will be out for the season. Logan Thomas will receive the job back and in the game against Miami went 2-for-3 for a touchdown. "I think the weeks off helped me step away from the game and hopefully I can contribute in getting us back to the top of the polls" said the Junior Quarterback. Miami tied things up with 4:49 remaining in the game, but on the ensuing kickoff Tony Gregory took the kick back 102 yards to the house. This was undoubtedly the play of the game that gave the Hokies the victory. Miami drove down the field had to settle for a field goal and could not stop the Tech Offense from running out the clock. Next week the Virginia Tech team will host the 3-5 Auburn Tigers at home in a rare late season out of conference game.

Thanks to those of you who got your games in so quickly. Right now, it's only Ryalaman who hasn't played yet. I'm friggin quite tired right now so I may just go to bed. I'm thinking about giving him til about Noonish tomorrow. That will still give everyone all day sunday and monday night to get their next weeks games in. Soda should be back by then and I believe he advances fairly late so everyone should be good. Sorry if you guys had plans to get next weeks games in tonight.

The University of Texas has one yet another conference game. 41-14 against the Cowboys of Oklahoma st. They could not handle the big boys of Oklahoma so they beat up on there little brother. Huge game defensively by our unit with all the pressure and sacks on OK st qb.
