Week 10 - South Carolina @ Kentucky Boy oh boy does Plex take the life out of me... UK started off up quick, again, completely changing up his gameplan from last season's spread option attack with Randall Cobb, to winging the ball around and getting the pigskin to multiple skilled players. Starting off the bat down, 14-0, again, the Old Ball Coach had to dig deep to keep a shot at the SEC championship alive. Redshirt freshman QB Joe Taylor orchestrated a nice drive, capping off with a short TD pass to TE Sean Perry, who made a spectacular diving catch, cutting the lead to 14-7. The defense slowed up UK on it's next drive and got the ball back at its own 14. First play from scrimmage, Taylor audibled at the line to dial up a good old fashioned VIETNAM BOMB to Alshon Jeffrey. Taylor pumped once, and connected with Jeffrey as he outran the defender enroute to an 86 yard TD scamper. Quickly deflating the Gamecocks' sails, UK returned the ensuing kick off for a TD. Down 21-14, several ill timed turnovers led to three Wesley FG's for the cocks. Final score: South Carolina 30, Kentucky 24 Key stats: 6 INT's for South Carolina defense 2 sacks for DE David Reed (getting close to NCAA record for sacks in a career) Alshon Jeffrey - 7 receptions, 245 yards, and the 86 yd TD reception... Still no Heisman love for Jeffrey!?!?!?!?!?
