Chicago, IL - There would be no let down this time around, not if the Bears defense had anything to say about it. With the memories of the 21 point squandered lead and loss last game against the Lions, Chicago needed a home win and that is exactly what they got. A major factor in this game would be Bears RB Matt Forte, who missed the last game due to injury. He alone would prove to be to much for the Lions as he had 21 Rushes, 125 yards, 3 Rushing Tds and caught a passing TD. The game would start with the Lions receiving the ball. Two plays in the Bears defense would pick Matt Stafford off and give them the early momentum. After a couple of successful runs by Forte, QB Jay Cutler would leave a ball thrown to the flat in the air to long, which Lions CB Darius Slay would Intercept and take it to the house. 7-0 Lions. The Bears would keep composure, marching down the field with big runs from Forte again and a huge 33 yard out route catch by Devin Hester to even up the score 7-7. The Lions failed to get any type of offense going punting the ball away to Devin Hester who would make them pay, returning it for a TD to make it 14-7 Bears. On the next Lions drive they would answer getting a TD from Bell to even the score up 14-14. The Bears would add a fg on their next drive making it 17-14 and with 1 minute remaining get the ball back and drive it to the 29 yard line. Kicker Robbie Gould would miss this FG however allowing the Lions to tie the score up before the half 17-17. On their first drive of the second half Forte would again scorch the reeling Lions defense to take a 24-17 lead. Detroit and Reggie Bush would answer on the next drive to tie it up 24-24 with 6 minutes remaining in the game. QB Jay Cutler finally showed signs of breaking out of his slump as he was able to move the Bears down the field which ended in a screen pass to Forte who would take it to the house to take a 31-24 lead. On the very next possession Detroit QB Matt Stafford would be intercepted by CB Tim Jennings and would be finished off with a Forte rushing TD to clinch the victory. "It was a hard fought win for this team, that other football team is a hell of an Organization. But we needed this W with the Ravens, Eagles, Cowboys, Browns and Vikings still on our schedule" Said Coach Trestman Next week the Bears will travel to Baltimore in a fierce showdown with two great teams.
